    LuxOperon's Sketchbook Version 1.0

    Hello!

I've been browsing all the wonderful artists around here for a while now and it's high time I got involved. I love constructive critiques, so if anyone wants to please do!

I'll try to post often, if not every day then two or three times a week.

I really love creatures, so I'll start with one of those. More to come very soon!

The first post looks pretty good, I think the outlines are a bit too heavy imo.
I'm looking forward to see more work from you (:

Love the light scattered through the waves onto his back, and the design is very interesting, but I'm kinda confused about the bits of foliage. Right now they're only on the parts of the creature that are above the water, which gives the suggestion that they can't or prefer not to grow on the parts that are under the water, but surely they would be submerged when he is swimming unless he's completely stationairy. Anyway, great work, keep posting!

@dierat: Thanks for the crit! I realize I prolly should have explained a little bit about him first lol. He's actually an assignment for my character/creature design class in college, and he's not really 100% done. I intended to add shelves of coral to the submerged half of him, so he was like a living island with forests on top and a coral reef below. Every few months when he dives below the waves the trees on his head go into a dormant state, and that is how the seasons operate on his little head island. Other than that he stays close to the surface, as he draws some of his energy from the photosynthesis of the plants.

@Jarkuzy: Thanks! Yeah, I'm not happy with the lines either, I feel I should have done a lot more rendering on him. I'll finish him up 100% soon and repost him

Today I'm just gonna add some WIPs that I'm working on for school. The first is for environment design and the second is for character/creatures.

    Oof, gotta post more often.

Today I have two. The first is my very last character/creature design assignment. I'm calling it done for now, but I'll prolly revisit it soon.

The second is a little sketch I did for the last C.O.W. Because of schoolwork priorities I never got to actually finish it and enter the final leg of the contest. This makes me sad. I'll finish him up anyway, because I like him.
