Some more. The first is from Sheppard (or Vilpu... I don't remember) and the second is from Bammes.

very very clever comment about that dino guy in my SB man hehe, spot on!
you'doing TONS of very good studies man, pity for the weird looking scan/photo
no mistakes going on, only think is to just keep doing what you're doing, cause you're really doing great!
ciao!
Nice studies. I'd suggest enhancinh teh pics in photoshop a little though to amke them clearer. The Da Vinci one is great though.
Wow, I really like your studies! They have so much life and movement to them. Keep it up, please!![]()
wow, you and your sister don't update much, but when you do, it's wrth waiting for! Glad to see you are doing figure/anatomy studies, keep it up man!

Thanks for the kind words everyone, but don't be afraid to rip me to pieces when you see something wrong with my drawings. I can take it
Coralinia: Obrigado pelo bump
For those who commented about the poor photo quality, well, I finally got a scanner so hopefully there will be no more eyesore-inducing pics from now on.
So here are my first scans: hand studies, Bridgman and photo ref crap (some of the pics came out kinda cropped... still trying to figure out how to avoid that).

I think it would help to loosen up a bit. Do some blind contours and gestures!
(but then I'm really quite loose, and should tighten up a bit.. huh)
I see you're really committed to this, I need to do more studies myself.
Max Challie - You're right, my lines are kinda stiff. I've been doing gesture drawings lately (mostly from characterdesigns.com) and hopefully they will help me a bit. I might post some once I find out how to make them less lame cause my sketchbook is already uninteresting enought as it is

----------
Bellow: observation drawing (reducing the scan size made it too pixelated for some reason), heads from Bridgman, feet from Bammes and a few girls from the mind (to see if I'm learning something form all the studies or not...).
I only do gestures from life. Photos are okay for studying light, colour, and some anatomy. Not so much for doing gestures. Take gestures from everyone around you; people on the bus, people at school/work, on the street, those you live with, etc
Great gestures and body work.. do you use refs mostly or just imagination? They're pretty cool and really dinamic (jealous) ;P great stuff hope to see some more...

Max Challie - Thanks for the advice. I'm kinda shy about drawing in public places so I rarely do it, but that's something that will have to change if I want to keep on improving.
BANDD - Difficult question... I use refs mostly for anatomy studies and stuff like that. Everything else is usually done without ref.
About the "one year" thing, that was almost one year ago, so now I've actually been drawing for 2 years and a few months. But thanks for the compliment
---------------------
So, the first one is me trying to do a small oil pastel study from life... it sucks. The rest are just random doodles and some quick hand studies.
Been a while since my last update, but now that I'm on vacation I'll try to update more (and draw more).
I'll post some stuff from imagination next time (I'm always sketching from imagination but I end up just moving from sketch to sketch without actually finishing anything... yeah, this is bad, I know).
Two quick sketches from imagination...
One more quickie from imagination...

I like what I see so far; however, I'd like for you to do something different.

FightingSeraph, are you talking about subject matter, style, or is it because of the lack of color? Anyway, I do agree that this sketchbook is getting kinda samey. I guess it's more than time for me to put some actual effort into studying color.
Hey there, thanks for dropping by my sketchie i really appreciate it. I really love your contour drawings, the shoes look sweet. Your head studies are good too. I see that you can push your values further. Some of your sketches can go a little darker.
Keep it going, you have alot of potential.![]()
I think it looks really great when you use those quiet, wobbly, organic lines like in the last post in March 8th. Or perhaps there it was appropriate because it mimicked the folds of her clothes and the sheets, but it would be great to see what you can do with that in the future.![]()
Hi! Good stuff here!
Thanks for the advice on my sketchbook. I ordered the Vilppu book this morning.
I really like the sketches you have here. You have some really interesting lines, and the contour line drawings are really awesome. Keep practicing! I would definitely enjoy seeing more!
Bought a cheap (50€) Trust tablet to hold me while I'm trying to sell some internal organs to make money for an Intuos 4. For all the talks I read here about how every non-Wacom tablet is a waste of money I have to say I'm pretty happy with this one so far, specially considering the price... but then again, I've never tried a tablet before so I cant really judge.
Anyway, here's my first digital quickie. Done in ArtRage (sketch) and Gimp (shading). I tried to do a color version but the result was to disastrous to post.

Good work in here. I like the picture of the old man with the glowing cube. Maybe you could work on your line quality a bit... you know... swinging your arm more than moving your wrist with your strokes. I think that would give you a looser feel while letting your stuff breathe better.
Have fun!

Good job! Just push your limits and add color
Hey pantless_wanderer, great stuff in here! I looove the solidity of this guy; the arms especially have a great volume and gesture to em (great job on the folds as well). I think you lost it a bit in the painted version (the edges softened up a bit, and the folds aren't as prominent as they are in the sketch), but I think it came out pretty nice as well.
This recent paint is looking nice so far, though I think his right arm could be a bit more foreshortened towards us to help indicate the gun is sitting under his arm. Also, a minor thing would be the size of the brush you used in this last one is conflicting with the line of the drawing making things a little harder to read.
Either way keep workin hard man, it's definitely showing!![]()
