Sorry for the lack of updates. Went through some emotional turmoil, and then got better - and afterwards had 2 of my wisdom teeth removed (the surgery kind). I'm still recovering - stitches coming out this friday. Here's a terrible study poop dump.![]()

I wanted to go back to learning how to draw/paint proper environments, so i decided to do a simple perspective boxes drawing.
-to the first one.
So i decided to do a few more studies.
These obviously are not enough, i need to go back and study a lot more if i wanna paint environments. @_@
Feeling pretty emotional today. Here's a wip of a moo moo while i was listening to this.
I love all animals, but moo moo cows are one of my favourites.
Perspective studies will be back soon.
I SEE SUPERNATURAL.
Nice moo moo cow you got there
I enjoyed looking through your sketchbook and your self portraits inspired me to do some myself, so er thank youKeep working hard!♥
Soapy - HAHA I'M A RABID FAN OF SPN XD Thanks for dropping by! I'm still a beginner learning, but happy to have inspired you!Looking forward to see more of your stuff!
Didn't get to do much this week D:
hahha wooooo! also....I SEE SHERLOCK.
XD
Nice update, although it isn't recent D: Thanks for dropping by my sketchie though (and following back) ^^
Looking forward to seeing more artwork from you!! You can't just end your last post with a dinosaur-dog and then fly away cackling into the sunset. I mean dude.
Soapy- AHAHA
Anyway, these are studies from me from a while. I'm currently back to only drawing traditionally, my observing skills are down the drain.

I don't think observation skills ever go down the drain, your work has improved a fuckload since the last time i checked, but as with everything there can be much improvement in a few specific things. Being loose but exact is difficult, tighten up your drawings. I could be wrong, but from my personal (and subjective) experience it makes a bit more sense to start as a tightass draughtsman and loosen up from there, than the other way around. Take an extra five minutes with a drawing if you have to, and do it right. Hell, five days if you have to. I'm not sure speed studies necessarily benefit everyone to the same extent, I've always learnt better from slow painful experiments than fast and loose ones, and i think the same was true for many others.
Pay attention to value relationships, the darkest, the lightest, the value of the midtones and how they relate or differ from each other. The lower left drawing in heads01 copy.jpg is a better read than the rest, it helps to understand how you simplified that. The likeness of any object, a face, a head, anything, can be ruined by inaccurate value relationships. Anyways, i hope you're still having loads of fun doodling away!
Farsh - DUUUUDEEEEE, you've disappeared for a long time!!! Hope things been good for you. Seriously, thanks for dropping by! Can't explain to you how much i appreciate your comments. I totally get what you mean. I'll try to be more careful with my drawings. It gets frustrating when i don't improve as quickly as i wanted, but it's been a little tough with a full-time job that uses the wacom for full 10-hrs. Sometimes, i get tired, but hell i still wanna try to learn to draw. T_T
Thanks man!!!
Study this week and today.
Embarrassing stuff this week.![]()
It's has been hell, the past month. Couple o' studies.

Last two are looking tight, not perfect, but definitely a 'level up'. There's always something to be said about toughing out detail, even if too much of it can destroy spontaneity. Too little of it can warp your understanding of form. Anyways, you still going for more sketchgroup thingies? Was there a while ago, met jake, neo and the others. We should probably meet up one last time before i fly to the usa.
Regardless, keep up the good work, and don't give up.

The rendering is really nice, but the heads look tiny compare to their overall body but really nice nonetheless.
