Some of your characters appear a little stiff. I think you could change this with a quick sketch technique. Don't 'concstruct' your characters to much.

I like what you are doing here but I think with more dynamic poses your art would really be great!

update just a few more guys and a minor revision to one of my earlier pics.

Still working on getting dynamic poses so for now you'll have to just bear with my more static poses :/

Try looking at this book to help with facial expressions. The art work is not the greatest, but it does go into detail of how the facial muscles work to make the various faces we do. Also, lots of mirror drawing of your own face doing faces would help. Magazines are alright for learning facial shape and features, but more often than not, the models are "bland" in their expressions.

Also, something I learned in animation school is that an artist should over exaggerate as this makes it easier to back down to "normal" than it is to take something "normal" and exaggerate it. This especially applies to facial distortions and posing. Also try looking at Teigrob's SB thread as she is an animator.

Your overall grasp of anatomy is fairly good, but definitely could benefit from more study. I would say that perspective is one of your strengths.

Nice sketchbook and you have some interesting ideas for your character designs. Watch out your proportions, like with the last post. The guy's upper legs are very short compared to his lower legs.

Really like the helmet on that last guy. For a guy who neglected art for a while you're making great strides. Keep it up.
