Hey! I just wanted to tell anyone who is interested that the comic book I'm working on will be officially announced at the San Diego Comic Con! Oni Press, my publisher, will be having a panel discussion of their upcoming books and mine will be one of them!
here's the info from the SDCC web site:
3:00-4:00 Oni Press: Panelmonium 2009— Get up close and personal with trend setting indie comic powerhouse Oni Press. Join in the Q&A with your favorite Oni creators, including Ross Campbell (Wet Moon), Jamie S. Rich (You Have Killed Me), Greg Rucka (Whiteout), Bryan Lee O'Malley (Scott Pilgrim), and Chris Schweizer (The Crogan Adventures). Get sneak peeks at upcoming Oni projects, news on Oni Press fan initiatives, free Oni comics, prizes, and more! Guaranteed by Oni Press's totally biased employees to be "the most fun you'll ever have at a panel." Room 10
I'll definitely be there if you want a chance to check out my analog self.
I have a feeling the new book is going to be pretty sweet. Good luck with everything, and congrats on the success.
Congrats to you Mr. Crook! I cannot wait to see what you've got in store for us.
I just went through this whole sketchbook and I must say this is quite inspiring. If you have any tips you could share please hit up my sketchbook and tell me what I need to get closer to this level of artistry. You are quite amazing. I have one word for you really, Swoon.
Oni! Thanks for the heads up while I won't be there I'll be sure to read the oni panel sumuries sure to be up on the "news" sites, cheers.
This is such a good sketchbook, you have no idea. Really. You don't.

Bill: Thanks! It means a lot. I really hope it turns out good. I got plenty of time to screw it up so keep your fingers crossed!
BRINKMAN!: : Thanks! We have a plan for how it's all going to work out but its a very fluid process. I can't wait to see how it ends up either.
Pezz3D: : Thanks! I looked through your sketchbook but I haven't had time to comment yet. I'll get to it soon, I promise!
Victor B: : Thanks! Some times you have to look up "Oni Press" to find them.
IanE: : You shush!
So here are some of the pages that they released to the press. Now that it's legit I can start showing some stuff but not much. The story is about the assassination or Grigori Rasputin, the Mad Monk, and it's pretty historically accurate. That means that Rasputin will be a bad-ass but he won't be shooting lasers out of his eyes of or turning into a 40 snake or anything like that. But I think it's a really interesting and exciting story anyway.
and then...

Bill: No you cannot.
wookiedabo: Thanks! We are shooting for summer 2010. I'm a little over a third of the way through the art right now.
Here's a little doodle comic I've been working on for the last month or so. Basically, I would do a panel a day as a warm-up and made up the story as I went along.
Perfection!
That was funny.
Haha cool man. Thanks for sharing
.
Great work. Love those Rasputin comic pages.
