My favorite parts of these are the head dresses, so imaginative.

I just looked through your whole sketchbook, and it's pretty amazing.
Tell me, are you inspired by H. R. Giger at all?
WoW, Amazing sh*t.
Your studies are simply awesome, very confident with the pencil.
The paintings are also very interesting. Cheers.
It's always a treat to enter your domain!

Very cool character designs, I love your lighting and shading. About how long do you spend on these black and white designs?

ooo I like some of the ideational renders there, even though some of them look kind of random. I wanna see you keep workin' because renders like yours are what keep things going for the rest of us

Ash888 Thanks Ash888! Glad you like them.
Kaiser Fate Thank You! and yes, Giger is a very big influence on me.
lennon Thanks for the comments lennon!
Hive_minD Thanks for stopping by Chris!
AA-ron Thanks AA-ron! I spend anywhere from 3-5 hours on these b&w designs, give or take. I am constantly changing the design as I am doing them so it hard to narrow down a more precise time. Hope this helps.
Malakai SinClair Thanks Malakai!
Mischeviouslittleelf Thanks for the comments, I appreciate them!

I think you have the potential to be even more outrageous and abstract with your creatures.
Nice work. How is the animation going?
Really cool creature designs, the bottom one is badass. Getting anxious to see your final version in progress.

Great updates Quinn!
Those life drawings are killer and neat designs with those fish. I'd hate to be in the water with those guys for sure.
I love when artists make concept art of potential video game enemies. Either First person shooters, or a third person shooter like RE - I can see some of your character designs in both types of games.
I know, double post, but I seriously want to know where you think of this stuff?? Also, I'd like to say that the life drawings give a little extra variety, and some contrast when you compare them to your concept art. I wish I could give you some useful advice, but it you're definitely further along than I am.
Really cool sketchbook. Keep doing what you do. "weird" designs, guns and other weapons... I like!!!See ya!!!
The designs for the Deep thingy are pretty cool and original, but I can't help but think that it's more of a "scary" Utopia. Have you made background stories for these characters and creatures? Will you be making an environment for them? Hopefully I'll get back into it soon myself, but I dunno. It's been fun participating. Good luck!
frenpalacio Thank You!
Clochette Hello Clochette, Thanks for stopping by!
cout<mecha Thanks cout<mecha! Yes I agree, there is always room to push my designs further. Animation/Compositing is on hold right now.
AA-ron Thanks for your continued support and encouragement!
cuncun008 Thank You!
D@niel Thanks for looking!
amordecosmos Hi Nicole, Thanks for stopping by, nice to see you last weekend.
Trashy Thanks Trashy!
hitnrun Thank You hitnrun for the comments! I hope to one day design characters for games, it's encouraging to know you think it would possible for me to do that. As for where my ideas come from, it is a mix of influence and inspiration from movies, art books, artists, and photos of what I am currently designing.
XaNverse Glad you stopped by, Thanks!
Jamesy Thanks James! I have made a pretty basic story for my Deep world, and I am currently designing the environments. As for my designs being scary, the creatures look a little menacing and my use of strictly b&w do give my characters a darker feel, but everyone in my Utopia will be content and happy in their own dark and deranged way... at least I hope it come across this way...lol
Another creature of the Deep...
very nice stuff man. love the figure sketches.
the last few monsters look awesome, i think the falue could go a bit more toward the darks here and there, and maybe some bounce light. dunno, looks cool anyway, keep posting :d
When are you gonna start working on landscape? Can't wait to see it when you do!

Hey Quinn, I really like that you're keeping your b/w distinctive dark feel on your designs for the DEEP. It sets your work apart in a very good way and that's awesome.
Keep up the good work!
MeTaL-Mike Thanks for your comments and crits! They are very helpful.
amordecosmos Hi Nicole, not sure when I will get the environments done, still struggling a bit with those.
luness Thanks luness, Love your Deep designs!
Life drawings for today...
Nice pencil work. Regular HB pencil or ebony?

i havnt been here for a while, sorry for that mate, but ur updates are looking pretty nice. i see a pattern in ur stuff though, theres no straightr lines, always curves, dont be afraid to make edgy stuff to, it whould benefit ur style, u do have a lot of edges in ur pencil work, and its looking amazing, im just saying, put some more work in the sketch stages of ur digital work, i think that whould make great improvements.
keep up the good work dude, im only saing this cause i know u can do better ^^
Hey Quinn, Loving the black and whites up there, they have a real sense of form to them, I'm gonna have to have a bash at tidying my silhouettes up a bit, your setting the bar high on the competition stakes... keep posting dude ;-)
Oh goddarn, I'm almost glad I didn't check your sb out last night, I'd probably have troubles sleeping! (That's an obscure compliment, yeah...). Browsed trough several pages, your creatures are definitely scare material! Love your imagination and designs.
Nice to see some life drawings, too. Those pencils look excellent.
