Hey Cari, welcome to ca, im sure you will get the help you need from these wonderful people here ;-) good start so far, i can see the shadow,shade style thing you used in these pieces, but it doesnt really help the form read very well, try adding a few lines that go across the form, almost like cross section lines, there are some softer shades that would appear in the middle of the hand for example... looking forward to you scanning and posting you main sketch book here once you get it back, keep posting ;-)
