Great sketchbook XD I love the environment quick sketches -- 10 min for that; whoa. how do you do that? O_O;;; (somewhat of a rhetoric)

xinleh- thanks xinleh!! I have been working hard. yes i'm trying to slowly spend more and more time on each painting trying to do this way cause i get bored easily lol so im workin my way up to it.

Trefle- Thanks! lots of practice and lots of failing haha

So another sketch from imagination, decided to challenge myself with something in space. Haven't done a pic in space before or even vehicles so this one was pretty tough. Perspective is off in the ship but i gave up on this pic for now. Learned a lot from this one.

Oh the sheer awesomeness of these 9 pages, thanks for showing me that my artistic batteries weren't really on in the past half an hour - now it's time to draw.

Hello everyone! Been a while, but i have been really busy drawing and painting for work which is good. Also been getting some more time to do my own things including building a new website to put my work on.

Kerah- Wow thanks heaps! Just what i need to keep me going.
jeremygordon89 - thanks! i wasn't to happy with it, but i guess thats what happens sometimes.

anyway more art coming, but for now a little screen capture that i did.

    enjoy

really diggin your strokes man - the 1 hour screen cap studies are pretty sick. I find myself sitting down and noodling stuff for about 2 or 3 hours with nothing really to show for it, so I definately dig the way you're knockin the figure studies out in 30 mins and the screen caps in an hour. Keep it up.

I really love your earlier (as posted in the sketchbook) neat pencil works, they're indeed an inspiration to my messy lines.

Hey everyone sorry for not posting in forever. just been really busy but i have something that Kerah asked for, something done in pencil.

This is mixed media pencil and water colour with some tweaks in photoshop ill put up sketches and process later if you guys wanna see. This is pretty big so its weird seeing it at small web size.

This was for my little nephew, my first nephew so im a pretty proud uncle
    hope you enjoy

Really clean man on the last one, I like the muted tones. I know it's finalized and everything now but my crit would be on the left monkey, his pose is a bit stiff. Maybe if his tail was more curved/dynamic. Might just be me though.

    Update more regularly!

Matty, your stuff is awesome! I love the pencil work, it's like you take an ordinary every day thing and change it into some magic wand! Truly inspired, yet again! on this site! Plus it just looks as though you have so much fun with it, really comes through in all the stuff you have posted!

    Thanks for sharing

asdse7h9aeG1- Hey thanks for the comment! Where in WA are you from? My GF is actually from Perth.

So here is some progress from tonight's study. Still a way to go, but I'm trying a new technique which i think will be better in the long run and it has also proven to be a lot more accurate and easier.

Dude, Your SB is very good. I went through it from the very first page to the last one and I can see the improvement, so don't you lose the incredible momentum you've gained from it. What I like the most are your line drawing with pencils on your sketch pad. The work you've done for your nephew is my favorite in traditional media and digitally, I really dig your quick landcape and screen cap studies. Small critic, which would apply to my work too, is that I do not see much interior, architecture, vehicle or accessory design. I know, I know, one step at the time...but if you wish we could start working on that.... or else.

Nice one. For some reasons it reminds me of the cocacola Santa... May be because he's holding a can... Is it the coca cola Santa??? I like the colors however it looks a bit rushed/unfinished. In fact what disturbs in the picture is that there are no areas of focus where it is more detailed. I think in a pcture like this one, the face should the area of focus. hopefully, you get what I mean but I might be talking shit too... Anyhow, keep it up!! I can't wait to see the next one....

Thanks guys for the comments check out your SB's really awesome stuff wow!!

I feel bad for not updating, so im gonna post some fail stuff. Been drawing heaps lately but can't scan atm so these digital failures will have to do.

Thanks for crit patram! The santa was sketched pretty quick I didn't really think much about it just kinda painted it so we could stick something christmassy up in the office. but if i gave it more time i'd fix the multitude of problems in it haha.

    So yer 2 failed screengrabs.

I find the last two posts ok, especially the second one. The proportions are right and I believe this piece could be pushed to a more finished state. I recognise that the main character 's skin tones are a bit odd, but with the additional highlights and the correct skin tones, you would be quite satisfied with it.
