Poetry Man: Thanks broYes, it's always fun to try new surfaces, especially something so "ordinary" as a dry cleaners bill XD
Yes, I guess we can speak of a "Boredom" series nowSo here is another one with markers. With this one, I just started somewhere and went with the flow. Nice and relaxing
Cheers,
Tom
Beautiful work
I like your portraits and what you do with those markers very much.![]()
Thanks, dude!Appreciate it. Just get some markers and let it all out!
And some more markers. These drawings I used as a giftwrap for a present. Yes, it is for a very special someoneShe likes cats and owls, so here ya go!
Cheers,
Tom
Yes, some more... I'm just trying to get work through my remaining resources as soon as possible, this is just too addictive. I used no pencil on this one, everything including the hand is freehand
Cheers,
Tom
ha! I like the last one a lot. I think the hand could use some more work tho'. The lines don't look as 'fluid' as the rest of the picture.
Great characters!
Thanks bro!
And another oneI've almost used all my cardboard, so soon I'll start doing other stuff again
Cheers,
Tom
Hey there. Here's a little scribble I made of this sad crow in Hyde Park. There was something with his right wing and it couldn't fly properly anymore. So I fed it somewhat and gave it some water. Hopefully this critter is still alright...
Cheers,
Tom
i love the scribble of the sad crow, reminds me of shawshank redemption for some reason lol or just about how thats a part of nature that we dont like to focus on
nice sketchbook man, keep it up
And this will be the last one like this. Next up is going to be a portrait in this style, namely of my good friend Emal
Cheers,
Tom
Ok, ok! Here's the official end of the series... I promise! Turned out to be a nice studies of hands, I guess
Cheers,
Tom
Hey there. No, this isn't part of the Boredom series anymore. This is just the backside of a portrait which I'm going to make of my mate Emal. It says: "For Emal, my friend in need." He knows what I mean
Cheers,
Tom
And some more handstudies... with Christmassie colors, am I getting into the spirit...?
Cheers,
Tom
Those last few remind me of window murals. It also reminds me of composition practice- Including colors. I also like the head sketches.

I've been working on this one for my friend Emal now for 3 days. I tried some new things with this one.
First of all, I did not solely made this with a thick marker. I made the facial features and the hair with a fineliner, which adds more variety to the lines. Also I tried to stick a little bit more to realistic colours with this one, keeping the abstract element mostly in the background. By doing this I tried to put more emphasis on the face, because of its "cleanliness", sorta speak. And yeah, copic markers don't really work well with cardboard... should have known that
This piece, I promise, really will be the last one in this style for a while, because I have no resources (cardboard) left anymore and I need to start packing for my dad arrives. Hopefully you like it, Emal
Cheers,
Tom
Hey there! Happy 2011 everybody! Just returned from Australia, and it was awesome! Here are some plane scraps. Didn't do much really, because sitting 24 hours in a plane kinda fries your brain.
Cheers,
Tom
Hey there! Yes, finally some drawings again! Here are some quick drawings to get back in the mood again, with a lovely but nonetheless very cliche subject. Always fun!
Cheers,
Tom
Here's a quick selfportrait I made. Just a mirror and some nice music, that's all you need!
Cheers,
Tom
And some more... had some trouble with the leg and the torso, c&c appreciated![]()
Aaargh, this one took too long, didn't know what to do with it... messed it up so many times. Whatever, here it is![]()
