Yeah, it was hope against hope. No one had any advice for it, so I wondered if perhaps it was actually finished. I certainly hadn't though of anything else to add, and no one was giving me any direction, so I thought maybe it was worthy of the finished forum. Guess not, I'll delete it from the Finished Forum. Sorry for wasting everyone's time.

I think you're drawing the teeth in a really juvenile way. I REALLY don't mean to be offensive with that, it's just that generally when I was young, big teeth = awesome, no mater how unrealistic it is.

There's also not a whole lot of thought going on about how the jaw would work. Right now it just looks as if the lower half would move down instead of rotate.

I think I can say that for the most part, this is under-drawn and over-rendered. Remember that you should be solving your visual problems (how things work, the detail etc) in your drawing and not hoping that your rendering is going to save it.

If you can, I'd say you should re-think this. Do some anatomy studies of both people and dinosaurs. Draw at least 3 different thumbnails of how you could do this piece and try radically different approaches to each. After you've settles on one, make sure you take venger's advice and sort out your drawing, planes etc before you get to rendering it.

No offense taken Jason. I am still young. Hell, I'm barely out of high school. I know I've got a long way to go.

Thanks for you advice though. As I have stated in other threads, all of this work is for an unfortunately rushed portfolio, as I have been involved with a game project very heavily for about a year and haven't had much time to improve my basics. All of this work (Magnus, Pyramids, Toothy, Bling Evil) was cobbled together in less than a month, so I can have something at least showable when I go to GDC in a few days to present my game.

But when all this madness is over, I can look forward to going back to the basics, and not having to worry about this craziness.

Oh happy day that will be.
