Abdiel lara : Yes, well .. i'm freelance, so i draw different things for a living, comics for kids is a part of it. And i don't think at all you need a degree in art. Of course art school is useful to have solid basics, but if you have self discipline and strenght of will, you can do it without school. m@ never went to artschool for exemple ! (of course he is a bit special i guess :p) There is a lot of people who are self taught, i'm almost, i only went in art school for one year. It's the same for my man and he is really good. I'm drawing on my own since ever, and went to art school 1 year, 7 years ago, something like this... After that i left drawing a bit and then came back to it more seriously, so a big part of what i m doing now, i worked it out on my own, with feedback and experimentation and fun. And I have still so much to learn ! Anyway even after school people need to learn and grow up, so it doesnt' make a big difference. A degree is not important at all in my opinion, what matters is what you will learn and archieve, and this, you can do anywhere, even without teachers. Just make sure to show your stuff to many people, avoid to believe the asspats too much, be aware of the crits, and don't fear work, i think anyone can do anything in this world. And thanks for the good words ^^
