I like the quick figure studies. And the giant charcoal drawings - you get props just for tackling something that size in charcoal...

Normally I think snapshots with anyone who stands in front of their artwork are totally cheesey - but the ones you have with the charcoal drawing just give you a sense of the utter scale of them. Kudoes, keep up the good work!

You're on the right track man, keep going hard into this life stuff. It seems you're least comfortable/fluid when it comes to quickly throwing down a figure, so its good of you to plow into that!

Madhatter appreciate it man. I look extreme gay in those pictures but I wanted to give the viewer a sense of how big they were.

Retronym will do for sure. Thanks.

Hey everyone here is some new stuff.

I used reference for the flower.

The abstract is like 2 feet tall and I just made that for my mother.

The abstract flower one I just made up. Its a bad picture but I put real rose petals in the flower area and used acrylics on both paintings. And that is was done for my girlfriend.

    Cheers!

Your stuff is great, I especially like the mixed media pieces. I also admire that you are using so many different medium and techniques. But I won't be properly impressed until you charcoal the side of a building haha.

    Hey Samuel,
As everyone else has said great work. Looks like your putting in the time (inspirational). If I can offer my opinion...I read somewhere that you have drawn a lot in the past from photographs. I think you can help out your figure drawings a bit by bringing in a anatomy book while you draw. You can work on focusing attention to specific parts of the body. This will help you to articulate bone, muscle, and fat more accurately. You can achieve that high level of finish just like your portrait work (i know the life drawing sessions have way less time)! It seems like the line to you figures is a little flat, try to emphasize the volumetric and structural elements of the body. I better understanding of anatomical structure will help a great deal.

I hope this helps and continue to pour your heart into your work!
    Congrats on the effort.
