Blast's SB. Wanna live the artsy way

Go to the last page to skip all the bull**** =P

Hey, I'm Alexander and im 16 years old highschooler.

Well, this is the place i will post all my drawings.

Well, i was drawing like this in 2006,

As you can see, i was a anime zombie..

Now, in the year 2008, i have started drawing again, tryed to unremember all the anime, since it decreased my drawing skilzz.

I have just finished watching the structure of man final lesson of the skeleton, now i will begin studying the muscle structure.
I will be trying hard to improve, and will post my important sketches here.\
And hopefully you guys will point out serious mistakes and help with my work.

Seriously though, skip to last pages. year 2008 is irrelevent.

Wise decision dropping the anime style. It is necessary, no matter what style you want to achieve, to focus on basics and structure first. Foundations of art are important in any style. Definitely continue to work in pencil, drawing more figure drawings and drawings from life. Draw everything around you! After all, they'll probably make an appearance in your work later on.
    Keep working and keep posting!!

It was wise to drop anime as was pointed out but it's influence is still visible in those later drawings. Since you have gone through the skeleton part of the structure of man use it fully. Draw a skelleton for every drawing. Including the skull. Use the skull as the basis of your face to avoid any possible animeisation.

And move on through the muscles of course And when youre finished with the course do it once more to really commit it to memory. And practice drawign the skeleton (and later on muscles) in all angles and you will see a great leap. You are on the right track so lets just Draw Draw Draw to improve

    Hey man, nice effort here.

I just wonder... are you looking at shapes and the apple? If you actually set up those shapes with a light on them like that you will see that the shadows don't really look the way you have drawn them. There will be a highlight (which you have), a transition area (which you have), the there will be a core shadow (which you don't have) and then some reflected bounce light on the back part of the object (which you dont have).

Sometimes it is hard to see these things when you don't know what to look for. I recommend doing a search on the internet for a visual explanation of how light and shadow works. I think it will help you to see what I am talking about and then next time you look at a shape to draw you will actually see these things come into play.

I hope this helps a bit! Keep working hard, thats what it takes.... so I hear

    Hey there,
Nice work you've got going on here. I can see you're really delving into the anatomy material. I especially like the sketches you made of the hand bones. Smooth line work and balanced proportions. I wish I could give you some technical pointers to help you along, but my own drawing skills are not advanced enough for that.
However, you mentioned that you would like your line art to render more clearly on the screen. Check out this tutorial -> http://lilykoi.deviantart.com/art/Im...ality-68374536
It details some nifty tech-tricks to make your lineart that much clearer. I hope you find it helpfull.

    Keep up the good work!

The first thing I noticed is that your realistic drawings are FAR FAR better than your anime ones, keep it up seriously. You have great potential

lol, i like the april fools day joke. At first I was like... ok im not even going to leave a comment... haha.

Thanks for the comment on my sketchbook, thought I would swing by and return the favor.

It is great that you are starting out so young and serious about what you are doing. I wish that I got a little more serious about learning when I was 16... now I am 23 and trying to catch up on lost time.

Just keep practicing as much as you can. The main thing I think that you should be focusing on is making your line quality a bit stronger. Right now you have a pretty hairy line (when you draw a line it is really like 50 lines on top of eachother). Try to visualize what line you want to make and then hit it in one stroke. I need to work on this more as well...

Good luck and keep at it. Keep doing what you are doing and in a few years you will be REALLY good.

Hey man, keep it up. Bravo on dropping the anime. Just keep practicing that anatomy. Try to find some books by Hogarth and Bridgeman.

Haha, I like the water angel. Could fetch a lot as modern art
