    Education With Color Pencils

Terribly sorry in advance if this is in the wrong place. I noticed sub-forums for photoshop, and painter. But does anyone know any good tutorials, or websites for color pencils?

I have a kit of 120 Prisma pencils and I would love to attempt bright, insane coloring. Hehe.

    Thanks in advance.

Not so much online material but you should definitely check out these two books:

Colored Pencil Portrait: Step by Step (Ann Kullberg)- while I guess you're probably not that much into portrait art (I wasn't either) the artist in this books shows you have to make very vibrant and colorful skin tones

Painting Light with Colored Pencil (Cecile Baird)- this book is absolutely sick. Pretty much every picture in this book is burnished color pencil (when you press down really hard so the white of the paper doesn't show) the way the author uses layering and colors seriously makes some of these finished pieces look like they were done in paints. (her fruits fuckin GLOW xD) The only downside is there's absolutely nothing figurative in this book, which is why I mentioned the first one for doing things like skin tones and stuff. Have fun!

I'm not sure about websites but there are some good techniques books out there, I found:
Basic Colored Pencil Techniques (Basic Techniques) by Bet Borgeson
    on Amazon. $12

I work with colored pencils a lot (my favorite medium!). I figured it out just by messing around with them. There are tons of different ways to use them (for example you could blend using the white pencil or blend just by doing light layers). So I would suggest just playing around and seeing what works best for you

    Have fun!!

Bet Borgeson's book is really good.

I sometimes use alcohol blenders or qtips with alcohol are more soluble pencils (prismacolors are good with this). Using textured surfaces beneath the paper you're coloring on is fun too.
