Portion of a Hambandy hat, which, if I can ever find the time, I plan to construct out of papier mache and Milliput, maybe with some sort of string pull arrangement that would make the little men flail their arms around. Whether I'll ever have a suitable occasion to wear it... hmmm

There are some folks you'll encounter in life... who it's simply best to steer clear of. Thaddeus is one of them. Mind you, Thaddeus might be considered a positive angel, when stood beside some of the other members of his expansive, trouble-prone family. Old Granny Crabnipple, for instance, whom we might term the matriarch of the Kickapoo County Crabnipples, is one mean and nasty old lady. She lives inside a dead tree, down in Boonzil Nut Hollow, looking after her spotted hogs and always just itching to pick a fight with any poor cuss who passes by. She's an odd looking woman, too, with her straggly, vertically growing hair, and her frozen stare. She's got one good eye, which pierces right through you like a gimlet. The other one is made of hickory wood, with a painted on spot for a pupil and an inclination to point in a different direction every time she blinks. Maybe the funniest thing about her, though, and the aspect that's most likely to draw folks' attention, is that she gets around on wooden roller skates, which one of her boys was good enough to make for her after her fight with the grizzly bear. Her "bones was all broke", as she'd put it herself, (although not so broke as the bear's) and since she wasn't the kind of woman who could ever lie down for any length of time to recuperate, the roller skates seemed like a natural way of getting around, whilst minimising the pain. Of course, the absolute need to use the roller skates has long-since passed, but granny's realisation that they enabled her to move much more speedily than she'd ever moved before... prompted her to keep wearing them, and nowadays they're permanently attached to her feet.

It's said that even Totiplar McGoofty, that normally most vociferous defender of the rights of all living things, simply couldn't be bothered campaigning to save these loathsome creatures from extinction. Whether his indifference to their plight might have stemmed in any way from the fact that he'd been swallowed whole by one particularly revolting specimen, whilst on an anthropological excursion to Scrod, the Plarp Beings' home world, some years earlier... he didn't say.

Known to the people of Hambandy as Lingular Fnooks, Jumbiligo Splimules are a parasitic, yet highly intelligent life form. Here we see a small knot of the creatures in late larval development, quite happily floating in the firmament above the nepulmium layer of their home world, Ptui Ptui, in the Drook Nebula.

Good old Nicholai - a man to whom we should always feel indebted. Thankfully, this portrait was produced sometime after he'd perfected his recipe for sticky toffee pudding, and the countless tasting sessions that he had to subject it to, otherwise we might've seen the great man with copious quantities of the gooey stuff congealed in his beard and moustache.

Re concept work for animation: No, it's not something I've been called upon to do. A few of my Designs have been made into toys recently, and that's an area I'm keen to explore more fully. I'm thinking of purchasing ZBrush 3.1, so that I can do some basic modelling of a few creatures and characters, but I doubt if I'll ever have time to become fully proficient with 3D programs. I'm certainly keenly interested in animation. Hoping to sit down and watch Ratatouille over the weekend, and I'm sure I'll enjoy it.

The little critter biting the man's hand is the Psamead, and they're all about to be deluged by a massive tidal wave. Apart from that, I can't remember anything about it. It's fun to illustrate these kinds of stories, though.
