A question often asked, on the roads and lanes around Pimlico.
Endlessly and just aimlessly walking... that was the routine of life for many Meanderthals.

Beautiful work
This here's Tobias Tonkerton, the boy that got his butt kicked by ol' Granny Crabnipple, after he'd stole the head off her scarecrow. Ol' Granny's powerful partic'lar 'bout protectin' her property, whether she's just keepin' the crows away from her corn patch, or takin' pot-shots at any poor strangers that wanders off the beaten track an' comes within "poppin' distance" of her hollow hickory tree. Tobias didn't mean no harm when he took the head off the scarecrow... he just kinda liked it. He's a simple kinda fella, an' he ain't got no real friends, so when he got t' talkin' with the scarecrow, an' it didn't say nuthin' nasty t' him - like the folks around Ricketsville is usually inclined t' do - he decided t' take it home an' sit it on his front porch rockin' chair. a purfect place for it t' sit, he reckoned, so he could see its big happy face smilin' at him, an' he could talk t' it whenever he felt the need. Well, everythin' seemed pretty hunky, an' Tobias an' the scarecrow head was gett'n' along just fine, until some no-good son of a monkey told Granny Crabnipple that ol' Tad Tonkerton's boy was harborin' somethin' that belonged t' her. Quicker than you could slap a blood-bloated skeeter, she jumped up an' strapped on her wooden roller skates, then she grabbed her gun and shot off in a cloud of dust down to Brokejaw Junction, where she knowed the Tonkertons' used t' stay. Now, the thing is, back in their younger days, Tad Tonkerton an' Granny was kinda sweet on each other, an' they was even itchin' t' git hitched, but Tad's pappy, ol' Moose Tonkerton, wuren't havin' none of it. He said that the Crabnipples wus just a buncha no good nobodies, an' no son of his wus ever gonna...

I bought a Dragonology book recently and instantly recognized the artistry of a certain Wangdangdoodle captain! A pleasant surprise, to be sure![]()
Great Meanderthal, btw; it's an apt likeness.
Cheers![]()

Are the dreams of aliens more vivid than our own? For the Bongjobs of Boonblatty, at least... yes, I suspect that they probably are.

A piece produced at the tail end of '07 for those nice folks at Nickelodeon Magazine. I like this little guy, and I'm intending at some point to fit him into a story concept, along with Sput, his trouble-prone but always eager to help li'l dragon, the myopic and unpredictable "Spyder", and a variety of other oddball woodland characters.
Absolutely love the feel and style of this last one!![]()
A fresh and more detailed version of the "Mordiga's Welcome to Azubel" vignette. One of four corner motifs from the lid of Queen Trinkus of Troiligum's sarcophagus. Interestingly, Queen Trinkus was the sister of Fatoota Patoota, the ancient Mamtockian Queen, from whose fossilised fingers Jamhut Doderpol prized the Galumphian glyph globe.
Although the Pickpea Moolies of Yut* are quite obviously primates, they're fairly far removed from any of the monkeys or apes you'll find on Earth. Highly intelligent and vocally articulate, they prove to be willing and worthy allies to Googly and the other resistors of Harmius Crool's evil consortium.
Joop Jumbiligo, seen here, is the fellow whose initiative and quick thinking saves Googly and Toohumple from being horribly pecked to pieces by a deadly, flip-flappy flock of Yutlian saw-toothed eyeball pokers, which they encounter on a hair-brained expedition into the big, deep, dreadfully smelly pothole of death. Let's face it, when you're a True Alien Spotter, there's just never a dull moment.

I would sware that you lived in a little cottage in the wildewood made from bark and brambles... and held together with pixie poo. Beautiful work.![]()
i really really am truly inspired by this art work, they are the exact same style that i dream about throwing down on paper, you know, the wimsickle style that are usually drawn in a manner shown in children fantasy books, but with a touch of humor and some realistic features that make this freakishly odd.
I would like to know some background info about yourself since it seems to be left out.
Like... where did you study, how old are you, your inspirations, the length spent on each, idea creations and such.
Let me know!

This crusty old carbuncle is one of the Thulian Giants (native to the ancient world of Cyrimbal) who live in perfect symbiosis with the relatively tiny 'Picky Pocky People'. Typically, within weeks of a Thulian's birth, the Picky Pockies will be found amongst the giant child's hair follicles, busily working on what will become an ever-growing aggregation of dwellings. The child's parents will almost certainly welcome the arrival of the tiny builders, knowing that the benefits to their offspring will far outweigh any inconvenience or discomfort. Let's face it, to have your every bodily orifice regularly cleaned and maintained, in return for protection and assistance... that would be a splendid arrangement, don't you think? : )

thank you for posting againyour drawings are fantastic !
Your pictures makes me happy.![]()
You had me sold with the procession of the consternated cat. Awesome linework. Looks just like an old stone tablet.
Always a pleasure to see your drawings, Hethabyr! Have you done any Terry-Pratchett-related work? Your style would suit his stories so well.
So nice to see you back! Awesome work.
Thanks Quicksilver, and Nubb. Re your query, Quicksilver... yes, I did a piece for one of the Pratchett calendars, a few years back.
Just took the trip through your thread... haha wow. So, so fun. Thank you.
Tuning to your wavelength and riding along is some of the most fun I've had in ages. The Hethabyr inspiration folder on my HD is bulging with your critters. I have 57 thread subscriptions; and of those, yours is my absolute favorite.
Usually its the expressions on their faces or in their eyes of your drawings that grab me; but you're also an absolute master draftsman in every sense of the word. Beyond that you're a visionary and a master storyteller and artist; the giggles and laughs weren't stopping for anything all the way through the ride.
I wish to give you a magical golden coin for the privilege; but maybe I can cast a spell from my hatful of spells that would compel a few others to come and experience the ride and leave thoughtful comments for you at the end. Your work certainly deserves it.
Please continue posting until you can post no more; I'll see what I can do about rounding up some new Hethabyr 'wavelength riders'![]()
