I received one about three weeks ago as a gift from a relative. I'd mentioned that I was going to be shopping around for one for my workshop and someone beat me to the punch.

It doesn't light up or swivel around on a big arm like some of the more sophisticated models, but it's entirely serviceable for what I need it to do (and it was a gift - which means I can put that money toward other supplies).

You can check it out here: Attach-A-Mag...

Nothing flashy, but it works and that's all that I need. I'm sure there are others around here using other models that will chime in with their reports.

Hmmm, for that price, that's not bad at all. Looks like a steal if you ask me.
I was never too fond of the price tags on the ones that lit up, swiveled, had rocket boosters and cooked breakfast, to be honest.

I'd just as soon tape a handled magnifying glass to my face over my eye....

Actually. Not too bad idea considering I've got plenty of duct tape and a magnifier...

They have one of those visors with magnifying glasses on them. I brought one from a discount store and they work pretty good...my granddad used them when he repaired sewing machines in his shop. There is one at Dick Blick's.

    BTW, Wiggins...funny avatar! Wormy twinkie...LOL!

I have one of those optivisors (Mad Cross' link) - it's good, and certainly helps a bit. But it's not as good as I imagined it to be before I tried it. I think I have the 8" one which means you have to work 8" away from your face - and that constrained me a bit And the magnification isn't incredible or anything.

Still worth a try if you can get a deal (I got mine cheap as chips on ebay and have never regretted it)
