really cool looking stuff! the first couple images sort of reminded me of Bunny's style. I like the anatomy studies and the man bird. again, cool stuff and keep it up!
ahh... I'm sorry you had to see those. I've gotten better but haven't posted anything recently. maybe I'll scan in some sketches. thanks for looking though!
Catofglass, Like the lifers in post#2, especially the last 2 - very nice, fluid and sound. Are you in Cali? I thought I recognized a model 2nd to last in post #2.

nice stuff here man really good grasp of anatomy and your lineart is also really well done. only crit i have is maybe try to put more emphasis on contrast to help the pictures stand out more. keep it up.
To live is to create, to create is to live. Without art and music, I do not know how I would get by in my day to day life.

class stuff:
note: i am doing more stuff from life, but most of that will be posted in the painting from life or figure drawing from life threads. unless i really like 'em. then i'll post em here too.
crits, comments, and cookies are always appreciated and may even be returned.
hey catofglass, this is a really good sketchbook, you have some really cool ideas. although i can critique some work you have done. try working more on the shading and giving things a much darker contrast, therefore it will bring out the object and the details. but i like how you warped some of the beings with creatures very cool, kinda gives me some ideas myself. your not only getting help but your also helping others with your imagination. hope this helps and best of luck![]()
Man, I'm really lame. I kept saying I was going to be all over CA after Revelations, but I haven't even been here in about a month.
Anyway, Hey! nice sketchbook! I'm glad one of us followed through with our Revelations resolutions. Nice figures, you've got some good anatomy. Great playfull ideas too. I feel like I'm lost some of that playfulness in my own sketches, too much pressure from the "real world". Forget the real, time to get surreal!
Keep posting!
Rob
Hey Rob! thanks for stopping by! GET A SKETCHBOOK. then i can return the favor!hope rhode island's treating you well and you're doing some lovely satisfying sort of work.
Ashley!! Long time no see. I'm glad I found your stuff so I can see how much ass you're kicking!! Lots by the looks of it. Loving your sketches. You're getting really inventive!
Gray
Gray! yah man I miss seeing you in class - hope everything's going well.
ok you chickies, i've had requests to post the more traditional stuff that i've been doing, so here's the sum of my comp and painting class with one piece from drawing concepts.

ok i've been reading through mr. dinotopia's blog and it's like the holy grail for us ADD tech-age kids cause it has all the essentials of painting, drawing, and general good art making broken down into small manageable chunks.
i just had to share. GO! http://gurneyjourney.blogspot.com/
sup Ashley! It's me Tom
Nice to see what you're working on since we have no classes together. ever.
I gotta agree about the James Gurney blog. Tons of useful info.
See you around!

Meow! How's it goin? I realy like your traditional stuff, you're paintings have some great lighting, i espcially like the one that's dark with the group hug thing going on in it , but i abolutely love your three prints. supercool, glad you're keeping busy, hope i can do the same, looking into renting a studio space since a small apartment with a spiteful animal that's jealous of the attention that my work gets is no good for leaving paintings or sculptures out unattended...
Keep up the good work talk to you soon!

This account is dead but my sketchbook holds in it my humble beginnings
☠ SKETCHBOOK ✎ NEW SKETCHBOOK
Hey, nice stuff! Nice paintings, I like the pale skinned, bird skulled one a lot, nice variation in tones. Nice playful sketches to, that's where good ideas come from. You need to paint some of those winged figures you posted last, those would make some interesting paintings.
Too bad the next workshop is so far away I don't think I'm going to make it to New Zealand. Maybe next one, but I am going to Illuxcon in November.
quick dump. mix of classes and sketchbook, too lazy/burnt to make sense of it.
note to self: get better. yah.
May 8th those colors are great! The bum-bum on the left is my favorite I think you're a strong painter, hope you find the time to do more. Nice Cloaked figure in the last post. I wish it was acceptible to wear big cloaks around these days without people mocking you. (It's only because they're jealous though.)
