nice studies! but i think the 3 first of them could use more contrast. maybe you sticked to much on your reference, losing the "exploring eye" ?
i like the last two concepts, but still i wonder why you put that shoulder armor on the other side when you flipped him backsides. did you forget to rotate horizontal again?

anyway... good work and keep doing!

Really really nice studies with those animal paintings!!! I would love to see your fantasy stuff look more painterly like that. Or at least try to apply the color palette to your fantasy piece.

I really like last study, pretty fine lineart and good render.
About design of presentation, would be pretty fine but you kill the space whit the upper type. I think that the space between top of the monster and text have to be the same between the bottom of monster and the top of the lower black area; the space between top of the text and artwork border seems ok (same black area's height).
Just my two cents, but i think that a nice piece like this needs nice presentation ;-]

I'm really interested on the process between grayscale rendering and colors. You usually use this process? Why? About techincal steps?
    Thanks, and keep posting!

Very beautiful and inspiring stuff here. The step by step creature design is great to see. I like the way you start with B&W and then sort of "wash" color over it (multiply layer I'm assuming?). It lends a very nice range of colors and tones. Very rich.
