    Everything I've learned I have forgotten - AKID's Sketchbook

    Hi Conceptart.org !

My name is Adam, I'm 24, currently residing in Berlin, in my final year of a computerdesign study. I've been doing random but unfocussed digital (painting) stuff for years (www.akid-graphics.com)

I'm hoping to get some C&C on my drawings - you'll mostly find sketches from observation in the train, the occasional imaginative drawing and some photoshop reproductions and photo studies : )

I've been drawing and painting digitally for years with no clue or any practical knowledge and I decided to turn all of that around - I'm not gonna bore you with any anatomy-book studies, I bet you've all seen enough of that.

Enjoy this thread - I'll try to keep it fresh for you though I won't make any 'POST A SKETCH A DAY OR DIE' promises ^^

Don't worry about what other people think is boring or not. Our sketchbooks are for ourselves. Whatever exercises that further your growth as an artist should be represented. It's your sketchbook, put in whatever you want, as long as your getting the most out of the experience.

    tronbot thanks man ^^

I'm doing two life drawing courses right now - one is focussed on art anatomy and whereas the other one is more focussed on values and extreme light conditions, which is a pretty nice balance I think ^^ I'm getting into working with coal and conte ! EFF YEAH!

Ah yeah and all my art books arrived and I started studying/transcribing

Mostly from life, selfs and vanderpoels (oh and posemaniacs) (oh and some line practices as suggested on CA - thanks ! - doing about 2 per day of these - I find them relaxing and helpful xD)

Wonderful stuff, I'm especially fond of those mouth and nose drawings =) And I'm wondering, what do you do with those line practices? Draw lines as straight as possible and to a certain point?

Rengin: thanks ^^ Yeah that's it - I found the threads by Yoshiti here on conceptart and I'm doing those exercises.. The straight lines things are a) relaxing and b) reassuring. I'm starting to develop more confidence in my line - I can recommend it lots!

    Topcross: appreciated : )

bjoern3000: hahahah faaar from it! I actually got to see the beautiful cast in real life ! I'm hoping to draw from it soon as well ^^

Update: mostly life drawings and some first sight sized Bargue Drawings - rushed those eyes a bit but it was a lot of fun
