I decided to try this again D: I'm a little nervous, but everything gets me antsy. Tear me apart! I need to get better!

I'll also try to update everyday, sketches, anything, Hell, I'll take suggestions as to what I should do for practicing! :3

Anyway, I'll post two pictures for now, the one in pencil was done before Christmas, and the bird head was done around... the end of march! Not recent but it'll give you an idea of my work. I also used a photo ref for the Grey.

New stuff! Power was out for a bit Saturday so I sat on the floor and drew two of my birds! I couldn't get my other Budgie he was hidding... D: But I got two of them.

Just a few more sketches... some pose practice. XD Quickies done on my lunch break sometime last week and a picture of my Boyfriend I did while watching Smallville tonight... (Though I wasn't watching so much as sketching tonight! yup.)

Hey Mrianna. Thought I'd give your sketchbook a look after seeing you comment in the Education section.

I think with color the thing to remember is to avoid "the tubes" (neon tubes). That is, avoid using bright, neon like colors.

I would suggest that if you're really into anime to set that style aside for a while until you find yourself as an artist. Westerners don't usually get work when they attempt to be anime/manga artists. It's better to build your own style and then you can attempt some sub-styles, anime being one of them if you so desire.

Keep up the drawing!

Hey thanks! even though this is really late getting back to you! LOL

I usually don't colour so bright, and hadn't realized it was (I just got a new monitor, I guess the old one wasn't as well calabrated as I thought? LOL) I was trying to match the colours of my budgie but it didn't quite work, she's not THAT green.

and yeah... I learned to draw Anime Style, so it shows when I just draw my own way, I do practice real life stuff sometimes, and am trying to add a few more "western" Elements to my art, see how that goes.

Anyway, decided I should update this bugger! Heres' something I did this afternoon as a doodle type thing...



People keep telling me it'd make a great tattoo... Not what I made it for but sure I guess...

See if I get anything done before I go to work tomorrow.

a new picture I'm working on for a friend...

I was drawing to close to the edge of the paper so some of it looks funny... the lesson? don't draw so close to the edge of the paper....

I guess I'll fix it up digitally before I colour it.

Also... the back leg looks funny... it needs to be move around or redrawn not so twisted maybe...? or both... probably both.

It's quite the dynamic pose for me though. lol

I'm going to post again! and when I unbury my scanner I'll add actual sketches and things as well.

These two where done... a couple of months ago now, after I had started work. at night when my kid was asleep. weird random ideas... It mostly coloured pencil, but there is some ink in there was well.

two new ones from this past week. My scanner isn't set up so it's unfortunately pictures right now.

the owl is a linework that I'm going to be painting soon, and the Sea Lion picture is one that I have completed.

Sea Lion was something i did at work when redrawing This picture. It was mostly for practice and out of boredom, but i really liked it and decided to paint it.

I have my Owl finished, It took me It's too big for my scanner so unfortunately it's a picture again. Really nice to work that big.



I may see if I can get pictures from when I did some Life Drawing last week. I didn't get to go this past session due to work, but I'm going to try again this Thursday, provided I can get the evening off.

I'll see if I can't get something scanned tomorrow as well, I have something I want to go into the Critique forum.

Also, I set myself a goal of having one illustration done a week, here's to hoping I can get started on it.

Love the drips in the painting.

The painting looks good but a little flat. I have never water colored. So, I don't know how hard it is to model in. Just remember in almost ever painting you want to show the form as well as you can. To do this think of the form fist, then the light source. This whole process does not include color only value.

that was quite sometime ago in one of my sketchbooks actually. pencil and pen. Looks like I washed it out a bit when I originally scanned them.

Couple of new things. I still haven't gotten the scanner working... See what my boyfriend can do he is far more tech savvy. It'll be easier to scan than it is to take pictures, which is why I haven't posted anything.

I've also gotten to go to some life drawing workshops! But I have been leaving the pad I'm working on there since it's big and I know the woman who runs the shop that we do the Life drawing in. I may be able to get some pictures when I get the Newspaper pad home. I'm working in Willow charcoal for those. Messy and fun.

Watercolor pictures I am working on for a friend. mostly just need some details here and there.
