jatherip: I believe I do know what you mean.glad youre diggin it!
i find the times that Im feeling less than productive, its easier to get things moving by doing a good ole master study...
heres a Rembrandt w/ sequential.
hope those that peep this book are getting some use at of them, I by no means have my method set in production stone, but im beginning to get there.![]()
Maannn ! that last guy with the moustache, and the girl with glasses are awesome !
Just a detail, but I think your rendering are too dark, maybe you can try to do them a bit lighter (just a little).keep up the good work !
Yeah great updates and progress! Like the last ink on page 9. My suggestion on post#269 Not all muscleparts are bold the same. I know you already know that but maybe you could play more with the skin above it.
Keep up the great work
Cheers

Mark Tarrisse: word up on the darkness getting a little too shadowy... Im learning to moderate that a bit better fosho.
Fumble: yeah mang, master studies do definately help on many levels!
kischi: i hear ya, that piece is still quite a ways from being done... but Ill definately take your suggestion into consideration when I start playing with the surface textures/skin tones...
just an update on the flying centaur vs. winged shark creature... just layed out the lighting I wanted plus bg elements. Next step is hyping up the res and starting in the on fine tuning/details and then COLOR!and dont worry my dark fearing peeps, Ill make sure where I want detail to pop that its light enough so you dont have to adjust your monitors!

A: because they have Hollow-weenies!!!
happy day after halloween! lil skull... as I love me some skulls (acrylic analog SB piece... w/ some good ole brush splatta)
Cool as updates man, really love the traditional sb pages!!
In fact your portraits and heads are really getting awesome, you going to do some more figures studies soon tho?
lil figure study: 30 mins...
going to do a bunch of these much akin to the analog face studies.... repetition truly instills the skillz!
its lame I know, but I feel too tired sometimes to pour in some creative juices into my portfolio pieces when I get home from weak sauce work.... so in the mean time Im trying my best not to beat myself up about it and just doin some studies....then back to the folio.
nother page o faces... mo figs and portfolio peeks coming soon...
nother 1/2 hour fig study....
The new works awsome
I really like the step by steps learned alot from them
the faces are looking great
keep having fun drawing and painting
till next time -Jamie

Great work! Your studies show solid progression. Love the dynamics and power in your imagination work also!
thanks for the support fellers!
nother SB page.... folio work today....
fig study warm up... Im reminded that its much nicer to start from gray then to work it from white on up...![]()
mix o analog SB pages, and some wips and ending with an long overdue space marine update... for those that have seen the earlier versions... yes I will add some of the engraving/graphics back onto the armor... I just had to establish my lighting and scene first... dont know why ive been prolonging finishing this bad boy... but I suppose when theres nobody pushing... just my own sense of slappin the slackerage... time just passes.... WEAK sauce I know... Im working on it!I got to find some fellow artists that will keep me on track mang!
Awesome faces dude, lots of expression in them. I'm jealous![]()
have you studied armor a lot?
just asking because your designs look really cool and functional even if they are exaggerated.
nother space marine update w/ power fist... have been messing around with the tailored background action.. always enjoyed the leyendecker white... and Ive seen similar treatments w/ warhammer40k stuff..... just trying to get away from the rectangle...![]()
almost done, some more details then some color!
Wasker:
midknight523: yeah Ive drawn and looked at armor as much as the next guy I suppose, but I think that no matter what, thinking about function with the form only helps an illustration.![]()
This stuff is bad ass. Thank you for sharing. Awesome!
pretty much finished my space marine... just debating on what kind of color, if any ill going to lay down on it... but thats the easy part. For my next folio finished piece Im working on that muscle lion/human creature.... figured the space marine was armor, and this one will be flesh and musculature... also I thought it be kinda of cool to present it like a marble statue... hence the podium/column...hmmm... and another analog SB page... studies studies studies
nice update your styles so sick man!
looking forward to your next update
till next time
