    Wink Forecast's Sketchbook (NSFW)

    Hey Everyone!

I'm finally doing observational drawing, mostly my friends. Some are still imagination, but it's applying what I've learned.

I need help/advice/criticism/feedback because I'll be improving quickly... I never show my work in school so I never get feedback from anyone.

    Thanks!

This is CutePorn, the name of my sketchbook (alot of the work is sexual)

sorry these are so f*cking big, I don't know how to resize them...

This is with a ballpoint and colored pencils

I don't understand the male body at all, especially how to finish the legs... I read Loomis and practiced but I still fail...

    Hey Forecast,

Nice work so far. So many questions spring to mind though. Why you don't show your work in school? And why is all of it so sexually focused? And are your friends actually doing the posing for you? Or are you just imagining them in these situations? .........hm.

Anyways, I don't think the images are overly large. I like the last big one the most. But one thing to keep in mind is to make sure all of your body parts are in proportion. The girl on her knees should have longer legs....and possibly some feet to go along with those legs. Her breasts seem a little too high up as well.

Interesting stuff. I'd say you're off to a good start. Let's see some more.

Showing my work to anyone has been some wierd childhood issue... I don't know why, but I've always felt awkward showing anything I did, even to people who have no clue about drawing and would think it was amazing. It's probobly the not-knowing-how-to-respond, but alot of times it makes me feel like an idiot because the student peering over my shoulder gets offended when I notice him/her watching and shut my sketchbook embarrased (this is when drawing anything). They take it the wrong way... they peer over interested, and like a weirdo I shut my sketchbook. I don't know why this happens, but it's uncomfortable to be present when people see my work, and not because it will be judged/criticized either... I think I have a paranoia of people thinking of me as an arrogant person because some snooty girl probobly called me that once. During art crit it's easier because the teacher forces everyone to put up their work, so you don't seem attention-seeking.

I don't know why the work I pump out is sexual, but I think it's probobly because it gives energy... like drawing something/someone you really like in general. I have a problem of getting bored with things I'm not interested in, so I use a cheap thrill. Part of the reason I can't show this sketchbook to other people is also because of the material. If a girl draws sex, people think something's wrong with her or she was abused/raped... guys can get away with it because it's like, "oh, sex. of course". Although on the flip side, girls drawing sex is more interesting/unexpected.

They usually sit or stand still in class or in the lounge, so I usually draw them without their knowledge (some are just random students). The pic with the girl + guy was actually two seperate drawings of them, I just decided to meld them in together to make it look more intimate.

Your rendering style is brilliant and your approach is solid - it's like the stuff you see in comic books! That said, even though you've got some solid strengths at the moment, check out an anatomy book. The first one that pops to mind is Bridgman's Anatomy. Yes, it's beating a dead horse around here, but check it out and see if you learn a few new tricks.

Also, you can resize via your image editing program. Photoshop lets you do it via the control bar: look at "Image" and then "Image size" from the drop-down menu.
