All very nice work. Your concept art is all very nice, I especially love the panda in the suit with the sword in his hand, lol. Cool thread sir.

My god, I think I'm in love XD you're quite amazing. Can't imagine being that good. I really like the environment. The colors you picked for the earth remind me Bill Watterson handled bare ground in the color Calvin and Hobs strips. The middle ground's reading like a sea to me at the moment but i'm not quite sure, it'll be interesting to see what it ends up being but anyway, quite impressive! (kowtow)
I have nothing interesting to say but here's my sketchbook, perhaps you'll think I've drawn something interesting XD http://www.conceptart.org/forums/sho...d.php?t=167964

Sir Cam: Thanks! Glad you liked them

MatejaPetkovic: Thanks! I think I'm going to keep the story behind it for myself a bit longer.

Dr poPcoRN: Thanks! I want the picture to work, thats all

strange1900: Thanks. I never thought of that when picking the pallette. Cool. I finished it as I went out of time (school assignment). I haven't taken a proper shot yet so here it is on the easel.

gorec: Thank you. Not much, I've been learning to use acrylics lately in art school.

Here is a dump with some of my latest stuff. Finished the portrait mentioned earlier in my thread.

Also painted the male portrait from observation, not yet finished. Acrylics in on ~ 80x60cm canvas

Sketches, studies, some more faces from sunday sketchcrawls....AND .. a COMIC!

the Artist & the apprentice: On Intellect - Being an art student often drives you into a critical approach in making Art. Sometimes making art can drive you into very restraining ideas about what is art and what is not. Usually these kinds of ideas can lead you into evil loops or just turn out pretty hilarious.

I thought the idea of drawing myself as the complex and self-proclaimed misunderstood genius-artist would make an interesting character.

Here with a loose reference to Marcel Duchamp and the paranoiac critical methods of Salvador Dali.

    Thanks DK_sketch. Legs are nice

I've started sculpting the model in a sort of heavy styrofoam which is going to be used as cast for the lamp. A bit chunky still, trying to set the directions and overall lines before I smooth it out. Hope you like it.
