Thanks a lot y'all!
Here's my 2nd charcoal cast drawing, done at Angel Academy of Art. Medium is charcoal on paper.
As with the first cast - It's not "art" per se, but an exercise in drawing; and the point of this exercise was to copy the cast as closely as possible in order to learn how to see. And the better an artist can see, the easier it will be for them to interpret (not copy) a subject later, in their very own manner and style; and that's the point of the program.
And a new digital painting: Awakening Giants
People frozen in ice for the last few millenia - it is only now that while the ice melts due to global warming, they are starting to thaw! XD What will the future bring when the giants emerge?
No idea how I got the idea; it just came out that way and was a lot of fun to paint. (lasso tool ftw!)
Photoshop and Wacom tablet, +-20 hours? A couple of days.
Now let's all donate some rice!----> http://www.freerice.com/index.php
Wow, that cast study is amazing. Same goes for your digital paintings, I especially love this last one, very nice lighting scheme and great job on the ice.
Wow, THAT shows control of a medium *gapes over charcoal drawing*
But the digital painting is much more creative and, I think, you - and therefore all the more impressive for it![]()
The cast looks way better in real life!!!
they look like they've been shrink wrapped a little more than iced, i think cuz if you're in ice then everything is blurred quite a bit, but the effect is nice either way
the cast is gorgeous, really nice soft lighting.

Ariel9, grazie mille =)
Hans, yes it looks better in real. I'd have scanned it but that seemed too risky XD
hp, thank youyeah, shrinkwrap XD Sacrifying realism for spectacular effects I guess.
Here's a bunch of new stuff from Angel Academy of Art. Short poses / life drawing:
And my very very first cast painting! Yaaay! Done using oil paints en grisaille, that means using only black and white, with a wee bit of burnt umber to keep the grays from getting too cold. Took just a couple of days because the cast was a very simple one.
New finished charcoal figure drawing. - La Serenissima (II)
Sorry about the crappy photo quality in these two. :/
Awesome update. The cast drawing is so cool.. It seems abit grainer than other cast drawing i seen coming out from angel academy. Just wondering why? The digital painting is very interesting. The concept is both mystical and surrealistic. Keep it coming..!

So selbstsicher!

Thank you!
My roommate lets me borrow her book "Drawing Course" by Charles Bargue and Jean-Leon Gerome, and I'm copying a bit from it:
Digital painting dating from spring 2008; a commissioned work for Paul Mallinson's book "Girls Kissing". The book was released only recently, so I could not publish the illustration online earlier.
Even though it's a tiny bit dated now, I still like it a lot. If my client is happy, so am I!
Painted using Photoshop and Wacom tablet, as always.![]()
Schön fleißig, wunderbar! =)
What about that drawing book, anyway? It is something you could recommend to others, too? *always interested in good drawing books*

Charcoal figure drawing done from life, about 3 weeks.
Portrait of a co-student, her name is Giulia :) Here at Angel Academy, we have an extra portrait drawing group every monday and tuesday, after the regular school hours in the evening; for the masochists (like me) who want to draw 7 or 8 instead of the usual 6 hours a day. It's really fun, we can use any medium and method we want! I used pencil here.
Oh, did I mention I love experimenting? This is an abstract art work done using bananas, yogurt, sugar, flour and spices, in a loaf pan. It is titled "Moist Christmas Spiced Banana Bread", and I think the medium and method serve its purpose pretty well. :)
My boyfriend loved it :D

Beautiful stuff. Inspirational really. I'll get breakfast first but then straight into drawing!![]()
Das Bild mit den beiden Reitern ist super! Da sprüht die Action nur so raus, obwohl da gar keine wilden Bewegungen zu sehen sind. XD
Auch sonst schöne Bilder. =)

You r improving very fast. I really like your highly rendered digital paintings.. they r getting better and better.
looking forward to meet you at the academy. I finally managed to send my application to the AAA and recieved an OK. So in september I will commence my studies there.
btw. great charcoal studies .. I hope to find the same patience to do those exercises like you do
Wow so much progress from your early pages! Amazing! Though every now and then your head shapes seems slightly distorted, I'm guessing this is when you aren't drawing from life. But great stuff
