Impresionante "SB"!
Your improving in huge steps, I´m really impressed with your dedication, your studies, line work, and mostly color harmony, and those enviorments are promising, keep them coming!
So got no critics just lots of WOWs & stars of course
Danke für dein tipp & besuch
ps. you know wich Art School your going to attend to? I´m looking for a good one here in germany to apply to (might have too look in Switzerland soon...), so i you know of any pm me![]()
Moin moin,
thx for stopping by and comment my sb.
great studies and skechtes you got in here! seems to be that you'r quite busy doing all those stuff.
Would like to know if you've integrated the envelope-technique in your lifedrawing process or if it was just a test? For myself I use some kinda modified approach .. dont have the patience and often also no time to use it in the way it is described in the book.
Grüße aus Ostfriesland
shamandalie - thank you
shardana, thanks! I will ^^
Azalin, thank youI'm going to attend Angel Academy of Art in Florence, starting autumn this year. If German art schools are good... depends on what you want to learn! If you want to do classical academic painting, forgetaboutit, there's no such thing here. But if you want a little bit of everything (including the artsy fartsy
) german art schools are for you. I live near Düsseldorf Art Academy, it's very very crazy there. not my sort of things, but students do enjoy it
Farin, thank youI haven't intergrated the envelope technique into my life drawing (yet), I don't even have real life drawing classes yet. Hope that'll change soon!
Today's worth of Bridgman studies, and studies from stock photos. And also some from imagination.

Wow you're going to Florence? Sounds pretty elite, haha! Good luck with that, and great anatomical studies, in the last batch, as well! I know you're doing great and I am in no way in a position to make advices but if you're doing anatomy or, any study that is, try to find your own personal way of constructing and displaying the subject. If you are more comfortable with beginning at the feet, do it!Just don't let others tellyou how to construct, because in the end, that's your path of thinking and they'd tell you how to think. No need to not try out the pointers that get thrown to you, though.
Anyways, why I am telling you this, I don't know if you erase or not (I don't see construction-lines, so I suppose you do) but on some of your mannequins the proportions are still off, like in that one: http://img299.imageshack.us/img299/8849/stock7zg7.jpg
When you start thinking and making your OWN landmarks, you will memorize the figure much faster and the structure will benefit as well.
Anyway, off to an extraordinary art-career for you!
6b! 6b! 6b! use 6b!
and draw on brown paper![]()
hey there my dearamazing figure drawings - post more!!!
and yeag like bakatron said try out 6b pencil with bround paper and white chalk
keep it up!![]()
It's been a while since i last visited your sb , thing are coming along pretty nice , but i still see some problems with volumes , they are looking kinda flat. Maybe you should stop doing studies after the masters or after photos for a while , and start going out , in mall's, park's and other crowded places , it will help you a lot , a lot. Most of the people are shy of this , sketching other people , drawing in public , but believe me , nobody cares that you are sketching them. Good luck ... can't wait to see the progress in a few pages from now.
ey grrl, you´re working hard! beautiful figure drawings in the latest update!
hi
do u know robulus ? i think he is german and do great stuff !!
hey when you enter to florence, don't forget to post us everything, daily activities, exercices. So i can imagine myself there
Dorian (from conceptart.org) http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=59870
is also in florence
but i think if you arrive there with that level of drawing ! what about after 3 or 4 years ??!!! (AHHHHH i can't imagine )
i must go to draw, draw, draw, draw .... bye .... draw , draw , draw
Bridgman rocks and those studies rule. Man, putting out alot of work there. Sweet Update!
Faust - elite, haha, thanks a bunchI'm using whatever approach feels most comfortable to me - it's just my eyes that need more training. Looking at a subject and translating it into lines 100% accurately is so darn difficult that at Angel Art School in Florence students spend a whole year learning just that. And I try to do all these wiithout erasing, I used a ballpen.
bakatron - here's some portraits with stronger contrast!
Peter Berkovski - thank you!
flamable - thanks a lot!drawing in public, I'll hopefully get used to that, some day.
Flaskpost - thank you too
zou - ThanksI don't know Robulus, do you have links about him?
I'll post my Florence stuff here as well =) That means probably only Bargue drawings and life drawing sketches the first year.
Trashy, thank you!
Here's the new stuff. Some wee life drawing. I went to a life drawing class with my host sister where they needed some (unpaid) models really bad. So we both modeled there (dressed) and in exchange for that we could draw a lot there as well.
And I almost fainted during modeling. Bad circulation. That was embarassing x]

Sweet lifedrawings! Is this Akiko-girl really that small or is there something about your proportions?
Anyway, hope to see you make more and more awesome shite grrl
Faust, thanks!Akiko is 153 cm and her head actually looks big in real life xD
Updating sketchbook with some new finished paintings due to a lack of new sketches and studies. All painted in Photoshop using my wacom tablet. Don't look at the anatomy please, thank youheheh.

The Weight of Sin
I gotta try watercolor painting again. Pretty kitschy pastel-like stuff... Like back in 2004.
in the last piece i think that maybe she would be darker on the other side not facing the sun. also the wings are kind of confusing because of the way they're shaded. it looks like it's in the foreground but based on the bg it is further back.

Hey! It's been a while since I checked your work out. Angel Academy, is it? Congrats! That's an amazing school, I'm looking forward to see your work from it
Your colouring has level upped many times since I peeked in last! Wow, your skin colours especially, they've gotten so natural. However, it's mainly the basic anatomy that's still throwing you off ocassionally. But I think you know that yourself and it seems like you're tackling the issue, so all the best of luck to you![]()

very nice portraits, I think the last one could use some definition of the clavicle, it just seems to flat in the neck area, but good work in here

Very nice sketchbook here. Good studies. You seem to have some problems with drawing heads/faces. Often on your portraits eyes are placed strangely which gives the face an unnatural look. It's not always evident then you draw/paint a face in front view. But then you paint turned heads it becomes much more evident. I suggest you spent some time studying head/face proportions, check out Ron Lemen's head tutorial here on CA http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=84105 to get started.
I'm sure it will help. Keep up the good work.
shardana, thank you !yes, studies always help, no matter what you're copying...
this reminds me I should draw more from life >__<°
Hideyoshi, vielen Dank

AsaB, thank you very muchI'm SO much looking forward to studying in Florence! Yup, my anatomy is indeed messed up at times, and I have no excuses, only the promise that it'll be better some day.
