NEW STUFF AT END OF THREAD
Let's celebrate the upcoming new year with a sketchbook. Mostly doodles and unfinished stuff in this thread, I wager.

Playing with this fun photoshop brush... plus a repaint of an old piece.
nice sketches! keep it up!
How about some storyboards?
A couple of enviroments.
Love the environments the most. The face expressions have a good feel to them as well...
I have one technical question: what kind of tablet do you use, and what size (A6? A5? A4?).
Wow, phantastic update, artworkguy! Very beautiful environments! But the storyboards and characters are great too! I like your style!![]()
Thanks everyone for the kind comments!
Doktor No- I have an Wacom Intous (series 1) A4.

Character designs for a personal project. Also included some initial ballpen doodles.
some character sketches and an enviro....
I think you should do something with the guy on the lower right in your ninja ballpen sketches, cool with an old ninja bum!
I'm curious. Your cartoony characters have a lot of life and attitude to them , but your more realistic people are totally stiff and flat. Do you approach drawing them the same way? By that I mean do you have a loose sketch to begin with, and then you tighten it up with detail? Try to get as much life into your realistic figures as you get in your cartoony stuff.
On the whole, not too shabby.
Glogg - Yes, I'll get to him eventually for sure. I like the sketch as well.
Clayman- I try new approaches all the time whatever I do - but I agree the poses are stiff, a sticking point of mine... for now.
Speaking of stiff characters, here's the latest, I'll probably tweak it a bit more, but I'd say it is 90% done.
Good stuff. Not really many crits except that the last environment had some perspective issues.
Perin- Cheers!
Here's a WIP... since it is the Sketchbook and not finally finished... The general idea is done, now on to refining, detailing and what not. (And make sure he doesn't look like Matt damon from team America).
Nice sketches , at first glance i noticed that your characters cant stand ... they look like floating ... you should work more on stances ..positions ... some anatomy can help.
hey mr.sweetbreath -- that alien head is looking real spiffy and coool. Lite raaar!
Cheers!
Another alien sketch...
A little illo WIP.
I'm having fun checking out your images. Time for me to get back to sketching. Bookmarked!
nice work. I like the story board and environment in posts 4 and 5 particularly.
I am now beginning to realize how much I don't know.
