I was left a little bit dumb founded when I was randomly blessed with an Intuos 3 6x8 Wacom this Christmas. I have been drawing all my life but not seriously until very recently. So I am very much a beginner. My work now is purely academic in an attempt to improve myself. Which brings me to my question.
Should I put my Wacom on the back burner at this point in my studies? Even if it is only for a few months, while I focus on just pencil and paper? I know that a good artist will ultimately make great work in any medium but I am not a good artist, I am a student at this point. So I am worried that even though the tablet is working beautifully, that it'll hinder my studies because it is simply not a pencil in the end. Does anyone else have any similar experiences to offer insight on this? Am I worrying too much?
I would like to start a sketch book here and wanted to stick to a single medium for it so that comparing my progress would be easier, at least in my eyes.
