About a year ago
I started a new study which kept me
from painting...

I realized I miss it.
Now im trying to get back into it.
Maybe I will post a
new quick painting study here every
day and maybe you
feel like giving me advice.

Heres the first one:

I only used ultramarin blue, burnt sienna and white

quick update.
since im visiting my parents i had to work digital.
i figured to get my paintings more precise it might be benefitial to practice line drawings as well.

heres what i did today (so far)
tried to be as accurate as possble with proportions (again from photo ref)
tomorrow i will (hopefully) turn this into a full painting

There looking very structural so far, so well done. I have a feeling though, your not confident with the shapes you put down and are erasing and re drawing to get a shape to work, If Im right in saying that maybe just try and observe a little bit more clearly what your trying to say and then draw the shape. Until the eye and the pencil are one! mwahaha!

isnt that what were all aiming for?
but youre right about the erasing, hope to get more confidence in the future

ok heres the painting,
its not entirely finished, but i feel like moving on to a new piece. it was supposed to be a study but took me several sittings to do
next one i will try to do quicker by pre mixing colors on my palette and making quicker decisions.
I think i ruined the hair and beard by adding too much warm color and making it too dark. used to look better before i went into it
now i know for next time (i still hope it will look better when its dry)

nice dude! it would be nicer if it were more contrast with lights.... maybe..... if you understand what i mean.
