hmm, anyways been on holidays and sketching a fair bit, going away to Sydney tomorrow to the 14th, if there are any sketchgroups tell me real quickly!
Had a couple of projects running, been going to the old folks home and I asked if I could draw some of the people there. Can't show them tho, because I gave them away.
Been painting lots of landscapes and have been making progress too.

    Hey Alex
Thanks for stopping by my book mate, always cool hearing your thoughts.

Asspats first: I'm impressed by how much you've matured in your work - the things coming out here are getting more original, better with each update. They have a sort of oddness to them - with quite a few of these bots you have, I can't decide whether they'd be better suited for a children's book or a blockbuster video game. Odd quality, but perhaps something to work on. Retain the oddness but make your target market clearer? Just a thought. Enjoying your doodles loads, fun and carefree and the way I wish I could do all my art .

Crits: Wanna see more colours mate. I can see only one colour piece here, and it's not up to par with your b&w endeavors. Also, with the more rendered b&w pic: Stay more away from black for all the shadows - it's flattening your figures. Don't know about the real pros but I usually wind up having black (or the very darkest value) in only about two or three places. Put some more variation into your local tones as well - you've grasped it, and you're showing that you understand it, but you can push it further.

Also, as far as compositions go, be more experimental - throw some more elements in, have some abstract shapes play around with the viewer's eye. Make your images more interesting to look at.

But damn dood, you really are impressing me with your attitude and improvements. Kudos, slapping 5 on here for putting me to shame in those two regards.
    cheers mate.

shiiiiit there's loads of stuff in here!

I have to second Brendan N's comments about the maturity of your work. However, I want to see some finished stuff!
Doodles and half finished studies don't cut it! I really like how you're playing with shapes on those characters, although some of thems seem a bit repetitious- more eploration would beeeee good buzzz buzz

this is pretty awesome. I'd like to see it fleshed out some more and larger.
I also really like all of your solid white and black stuff. Very strong works. Keep pushing those values man

    chairs mate!

great pencils and finger licking inks man. i'm sorry if that seems brief, but that is the core feeling of being back in here after such a long time.
don't mind brendan - he's always asking for coloured stuff, hehe. of course he is right though.
