It's hard for me to crit this cool sketchbook. A suggestion, maybe you can try to draw some environments or something?
Anyway, keep it up!
great stuff girl, wanna see more colored versions of those sketches!
Now that you've got Mentler to have posted in your SB,you outta do some anatomy studies!![]()
good pencils, though your earlier ones had more strengh, and seemed more confident... hmmmm maybe you should try drawing faces with more expression....
but the finished piece looks awesome, though it took you forever
good stuff, though, will keep ya watching
bye

Very delicate pics. I think you've got a good eye for color and you handle them with ease. As a crit, perhaps gain more confidence with your pencils. Big, sweeping strokes, instead of short, broken ones. Hope to see more figure and life drawings as well, or even gestural thumbs in pencil. Those always help out
Keep it coming. You've got a lovely collection of images. It was a pleasure browsing through your SB.
Hey B where'v ya been????

Lovely pencil sketches! Painting-wise, could have been better if you brought out the dark and light values moreVery nice SB though, count me subscribed!
I think the problem is in the feet rather than in the legs. They are too big.
But the legs could be just a little longer.
Very good drawings still. They look very fluid.
Cheers.
Hey Asa
Yep, were right about the lady“s legs, i keep making silly errors around joints specially.
The couple ended up looking nice, took a while i noticed, doing more less ambitious color practices and studies might help to lower the time lapses on the process when you go into a more detailed picture, instead of a 8 hours painting, maybe 4 two hour speedpaints for example, two cents.
B where are you??????!!!!! come see me! Now!

Asaaaaaaaaaaa update! D:
Your finished piece above is looking really nice
Has a sort of anime blended with Disney look to it... Hope that doesn't sound rude in anyway. The coloring is great on it either way.
Keep sketching and working...
But I have to wonder... where have all the Asa's gone? :0

so.... wanna update?
Well then. It's been over two months since my last update, I really do hang my head in shameI really hope such a huge gap will happen again! I'm gonna try my best, anyway.
So on to the repliesIf anyone even remembers this ancient stuff anymore! But I won't neglect anyone.
IanE - Hey buddy! Sorry about replying so super late, but I wanted to tell you that I really appreciated your tips regarding my latest painting. I used your advise and did some minor changes, although I haven't posted them there. Really no need, but it looks better, certainlyAlso reminds me to check out the arch.group, I really have neglected that completely, sorry!
jedininjaman - Why thanks, glad you like those
kelly x - Hey kelly babe! Thanks for the kind words, they're always super appreciated, you know thatI'll have to check what you've been up to lately!
purb36 - Thanks for the heads-up, expression have never been my strongest point. I'll note the name of that book down, sounds like something I need! Really glad you like the fabrics, they sure took their time, heh.
JailHouseRock - Wow, thanks for the awesome comment!I'm really flattered. I hope you'll keep visiting
Taboo - Awesome, thank you very much! Sketches are gooood
staticpen - Thanks man, finishing that painting was such a feat for meBut your comments about my line weight and sketches really warmed my heart, thanks again!
algenpfleger - Thanks, buddy! Although I think it was somewhere more close to half a century, let's keep those facts straight100 years is what I spend on speed-painting
5coop - Haha, thanks so much! I draw way too many women, hehe, need to practice some guys moreGlad you liked the Audrey!
Trashy - Thank you! Yep, I should move on and make another painting, certainly. I'm so glad you're liking the drapery, it was a pain but in a good sort of way
MnM - Thanks Justice! Yeah, I actually noticed after you pointed it out that her collarbones are mighty skinny :/ But since I've put the painting behind me, I'll just keep it in mind for next time!
mentler - Wow, thanks for visiting! Glad you liked!
DefiledVisions - Thanks a lot, it always puts a smile on my face when people mention improvement
Lyno - Aw, thanks! Yeah, I reeeally need to make some environs, certainly.
Kfeeras - Thanks so much! Yeah, not a bad idea colouring some sketches
~Faust~ - Thanks, man!Hmm, anatomy studies, I most definitely need to do some. I'll dedicate tomorrow to those!
lilou - Thanks! Ah, it could very well be that I'm degenerating in my pencils. More strenght in the first ones? I'll check it out, see if I've lost something on the way!
lukavi - Thanks for dropping by, really appreciate your commentsI'm surprised you say I have a good colour sense, because I always feel like I struggle with them. But here's hoping that'll decrease with practice. I'll do more sketches for sure, thanks again!
xinleh - Aw, thanks, I'm glad you'd want to visit againYep, values is still something I need to work on, thanks for pointing it out!
lennon - Thank you very much for stopping by! I happen to have huge issues regarding legs, so thanks for reminding me. I always seem to stop around the waist, need to do more full-size drawings. Glad you liked the sketches!
Renegade89 - Hey buddy, and thanks! You're so right, I want to try to do more quick studies instead of monster paintings now. Priorities!
the ANGRY filipino - Thanks, man! Improvement is what we all strive for
PlasmaErnst - Hey manYep, I have to be more frequent in updates, certainly. Glad you liked what you saw!
Matte_Art - Thanks Mat! No worries, that's not offensive at all, I actually find that a huge complimentAnd no wonder you wonder (hur hur, pun!), but all the Asa's was drowning in uni work. But she's back! C:
Grafguy - It's actually been over 2 months now, I'm afraid D: But thanks so much! I really hope such time lapse won't happen again.
Nettle_Mountain - Aw, thanks so muchAnd yeah, it's not just you, they do look paler. That's because I finally figured some stuff out regarding colour profiles, so the last version is the correct one
Clochette - Ah, thank you! Yeah, I might just even put some uni work here sometimes, if I'm completely desperate for an update, heh
The7Artist7 - You're too kind, thanks so much! Yeah, last month was just terrible. I had a reeeally bad cold (still recovering, been weeeks!) and with all that uni stress, I just had no time for myself. But I hope that will change
Bullsey - Hey, sęll og takk kęrlega!Gaman aš sjį ķslendinga hérna! Ertu bśin aš starta skissubók hérna svo ég get fengiš aš sjį? Vonast til aš sjį žig oftar!
Nadesican - Aw, you're exaggeratingStill, really appreciate the kind words, thank you!
------------------------------------------------------------
Okay, on to the (scarce) art. Not a lot, especially considering the time that has gone by since last time! But at least it's something. First sketches!
I don't always pay attention in class...
Some random stuff. Nothing to say about it.
My two best friends! Ah, they're hard to draw.
This guy is actually from the sketch challenge my sketch group had going on, weeks ago now, I'm afraid. I never posted it there, so here it is!
Yep, it's another mermaid. I'm still in the very first step of colouring THE mermaid (you know..), so I don't even bother with a WIP.
I actually ended up throwing some colours on this one today. Just experimenting a bit, definitely not my usual style. Hm.
Well, sorry, that's just about it! I think I can fairly firmly promise that such a gap won't happen againSee you around folks!

Good to finally have you back. The mermaid is lovely! And great to see you do the same stuff as me during class![]()
It's been a while, hasn't it? Anyway, it's good that you got some practice during your absence.

Yey!your alive.
Nice your back Asa.
Always nice to try new things, I like the shapes on the mermaid.
You had some nice faces going on with the male character, the lower body half in the full body sketches are quite short though, but i get the impressions is probably just out of them being quick thumbnails and you were running out of space in the page anyways.
