really like the last post ALOT. Some sort of marriage between Meignaud and Jones. Love it.

Yes - definitely - liked the last one as well!
I realize more and more that I'm drawn to digital illustrations that don't LOOK digital - I LOVE your style for this reason - keep 'em coming!

bhanu: Thanks!! More loose painterly stuff coming up, and it is ALL YOUR FAULT!
lolbbq: Thank you! 2 of my favorite artists, whee!
thundering1: Thanks a lot! I'm not a big fan of the supersmooth airbrushed digital art either, I like texture far too much.
soros: Thank you!
Mischeviouslittleelf: Thanks a lot!
Here's one for today. I don't really know what's wrong with me, these kind of pieces are very atypical . But this was fun and I think there will be more coming!

I like this last post and the colors that you have used. Overall I really love your thread and the creatures that you have created![]()
I'm loving your explorations, and that pic of your cousins' child is flat-out adorable!
When I said that Transient Man was giving me déja vu, I meant just that. An indefinable sense of having seen it before. Happens to me sometimes, sometimes as a very clear memory -- not just a sensation. This one was more of a sensation, I think.
[ *Thanks for stopping by -- I posted more, plus one specifically because of your comments. FYI, I can no longer utilize facebook at all, so e.mail me or IM me if you ever need to make direct contact.* ]
Hey -- Could you please annotate your sb title to reflect a date for most recent image posting by you, so that it is clear when you have updated???? Pleeeeease? I know it's an extra pain-in-the-ass to do it, but...

ooooooooh someone is channeling a bit of jj![]()
Just went through this entire thread tonight. Some really inspiring stuff in here. Out of curiosity do you ever use textures? Or just paint everything up from scratch?
Excellent updates, I'm always very impressed with how you approach lighting and texturing in your works, you seem to have a natural talent for it. Your brushwork is getting quite good as well, some very interesting strokes going on with some of your creatures which I dig. No critiques on my part, just praise as usual![]()
Your work is always both so inspiring and ego crushing.
Nice updatesLike the girl with burning head a lot...

Im glad that you're exploring more expressive art and allowing elements of abstract concepts and evocative colors and textures. I think something great is emerging from your work. Keep it up!
vshen: Thank you very much!
William b. Hand: Thread title updated sir!
I really need to go back and finish off the painting of my cousin's kid. My mom has been pestering me about it and that might probably be a reason why I haven't really completed it yet ( Oo Shreya, such a rebel!)
About TM, I wasn't sure if you meant that you had seen something similar earlier or not. Sometimes I look at a cool image and later forget about it and months later end up painting something similar- it is very very embarrassing. I was just hoping that was not the case with this one.
bhanu: Thank you! You ahve been quite an inspiration
Texahol: Hahah, I saw it after I read your comment. I was trying to channel Iv Solyaev and Tobias Kwan, but I guess my not-so-secret schoolgirl crush on JJ is now manifesting through my paintings. Yay and oh no!
clifFroth: Thank you! I used a bunch of custom brushes, I don't really overlay textures a lot though.
cgaddict: Thank you so much! The admiration is of course mutual
Sharkcellar:Hehe thank you!
thirdeye:Thanks a lot! It was a fun exploration
jsimeth:Thank you!!
Gloominati: Thank you very much!
lolbbq: Thanks! It's been a lot of fun to try out those experiments and I did learn a few things here and there. I hope it turns up in my other works too
Soooo...My desktop crashed :/ I am using my laptop now to paint, I'm soooo not used to it though. It is a beautiful machine( Alienware m15x), just a bit heavy. I might be building up some major muscle groups when I am tugging it to the cafes.
I started doodling a bit with some friends of mine in the local Gloria Jean cafe ( mmm irishnutcreme). So I have some doodles from there, some other random paint work and some stuff for the merman.
I am going to MADE!! Sooo excited! Need to push towards having a non-embarrassing portfolio for it , one month to go.
So..coffee house doodles, these are about an hour each, or a little more than that. Just trying to get used to the laptop.
At a friend's place, he drew me and I drew him.
A friend and I decided to doodle something quick in 15min, a warm up of sorts. It was very stressful
Something I started and lost with the desktop crash. I'll dig into the hdd and restore the psd and finish it off.
Merman doodles!
Oh..also the final version of Alice and the Caterpillar:

greta updates! really like the one in 515, sorry for the noob question but is it digital or traditional? was wondering what you'd be using for the special brush strokes if it isn't digital. But looks really cool!
the line work just above the alice in wonderland final is ssssiiiick. hope you have plans for that guy.

Lav: Thank you! All the pieces except for the pencils are digital
sourgasm: ThanksI have big plans for him, hahah. I started with the painting but it just looks so bleh right now. Going to scrap and redo. I'd love your comments on it, you saved my caterpillar!

SO..I've been working on the merman but it looks so bleh, I'm reconsidering the comp. For now, here's a bigger version of the greyscale studies for thirdeye, how the merman looks so far (blehhhh) and a WIP portrait of an Elizabethan Alien General, or something.

woot ! nice updates madame !![]()
really dig that alien portrait at the end, awesome update!
Your art is so wonderfull...in some of your pieces I feel the touch of old masters...all works so different and interesting in the same way...![]()
