Beautiful! (even though you're not happy with them, but I know that feeling, I have yet to see my first piece I don't dislike after a while)

Nice cards eh.
dont beat yourself down over them much .
Just some crits, I think theres a difference in the level of skill when you paint the face and the body.
Also I think there are minor issues with the figures in perspective.
Also theres is also the case of soft edges, get a little more variety in the form transition, maybe use a harder brush?
I suffer from the opposite, too many hard edges.
I hope this helped, sorry I couldnt do that paintover- the exhibition workload is killin' me.
Well , take care and best of luck for the CHOWs![]()

NR43: Thank you! I'm the same too, a week after I am super proud of something, I start hating it. I guess it is good in a way because if you learn to see the flaws in what you think was your best work, it means you won't repeat the mistake( hopefully) in your next piece. In this case however I don't even think I did a good job, I rushed too much and probably let me wonderful teammates down. I'm ashamed enough and I know I won't do it again :/
bhanu: Thanks for the crits! I think I just enjoy painting faces too much and it shows. I sort of lost interest in the body, and you're right- it shows. I'm going to work on that. More gestures/anatomy practice.
I'm excited for your exhibition !
I'm redoing the Caterpillar piece, I'd like to get it out before the movie comes out. Here's the new comp:
I really like the depth of field effect , really makes the work otherworldly in that sense.
Thanks for the help with exhibition, you are a sweetheart.
Take care

bhanu: Thank you! I need to pull that off in the final image. Also I have a tendency to make bg's look like painted backdropsNeed to work on that.
Haal100: Thank you!
Here's an update on the caterpillar. I colorized the b/w image and started adding some more color. Lots to do, lots of funGoing to add some patterns on the caterpillar too.

William b. Hand: Hahaha, those 2 are my favorite parts of the image too! Thanks for stopping by
Blizzard5291: Thank you! I'm going to push it even more in this pic I think, yay for rim lights!
oren90: Many many thanks, you're too kind!
Teundeboer: Thank you for the encouragement! Feel free to rip it to piecesIt's easier now when I'm just starting, heh.
Cameli: I will, I want to finish this one while I still have the juice, heh. Thanks for the comment!
algenpfleger: Hello you awesome artist you!Glad you like the mushroomTake care of those hands!
I have a quick update, mostly a lighting test + rearranged the caterpillar/mushroom so they are more towards the left and not as centered as earlier. I want to incorporate some broken patches of light (must remember to keep the scale in mind) in this;either in the fill or the rim light. Any suggestions are welcome! Need to start blocking in the background too.

shidoken: Thank you! Lots to do, I need to wrap it up quickly.
Darkside:Thanks! I thought that angle made her look like she was the one pestering the caterpillar with questions (she's supposed to be a little girl in the image). Glad you like it!
mike butkus:Thank you so much! I love you work!
Here's a study for today, from life. I started it while watching Dave paint on Livestream during today's Crimson Daggers session.

Really awesome work here in your SB. Loving the progression work of the caterpillar above. The altered face really helped bring it to life, giving it much more character and creating a more sinister feel about it and atmosphere.
Keep up the great work.
awesome!
