    Angry No pressure? Huh?

    Hello!

So, I got my hands on a copy of Painter X yesterday. Today, I tried to use it with my tablet (Graphire 4)...

The problem is, that it draws a line even if I hold the pen about a cm from the surface of the tablet. So basically it draws without pressure I guess? I've tried the Brush Tracking thing, but it doesn't change anything.

My tablet works well with Photoshop...

    Anybody have a suggestion?

    Thanks a lot!

Are you using the most updated drivers with Painter X?

It may seem seem silly to ask but it's one of the most frequent problems when people install a new program, they don't realize that Wacom has to update the drivers for compatibility.

I have the newest driver installed that's available from the Wacom site...That was one of my first responses to the problem.

Edit: And now I'm getting a ''Tablet driver is not running'' error. I didn't have that yesterday. Augh.

Uninstall the drivers and reinstall them.

i have this exact same problem on my intous3 except it affects photoshop as well, in the driver utility the pressure test works but no programs seem to respond to it. the only solution i've found is to reinstall my drivers each time i start my computer up. it's a pain in the ass but the only way tablet pressure comes back.

This may not be the same problem, but my tablet occasionally glitches out and stops responding to pressure, at least within Photoshop & Painter. What works for me (this is assuming you're on a Windows platform) is the following:

Go to Start>Run, type the following and hit enter: net stop tabletservice
After that finishes, go to Run again and enter: net start tabletservice

If that works for you, you can automate the process by creating a batch file with those two lines and putting it on your desktop for easy access.

If not, then I have no idea

Driver fixed. I just had to reinstall it. *whew*

But whatever I try, the main problem is still there. What's worse, it spreads. Now suddenly Photoshop is going nuts on me too. Two days ago when I last used it, it worked fine. Maybe I shouldn't have messed with the tablet driver in the first place? I'll try reinstalling the old one tomorrow...
