    Thanks.

Grenade concepts for a game mod i'm working on. "G.P." is the name of one of the teams. This is a grenade concept for the "UPM" player (enemy of the GP).

Second pic is a 15-20 minute digipainting I did before going to work. The flame was painted from a reference... the smoke was testing a new brush, and the candle was just with default brushes. Trying to paint elements more, building up ultimately to water I think. Constructive criticism very much appreciated.

An environment painting. About an hour and a half. Practicing "underwater" concepts. Or rather murky swamp like water.

Edit: Constructive crit on this one (or really any pic) would be really appreciated. It's just I think this concept could also be looked at as it being outside and above surface, just in a foggy location... It's MEANT to look like it's underwater in a murky pool, and I really want to know how to set that idea in stone without it being raped by misinterpretation. >_> Any help would be awesome, thankee-sai.

That last piece is damn cool man. Love the globules and colours. Still a little too washed out though, you need a bit more dark contrast in there. Just so the piece pops a bit more.

The smoke on the candle is a good start I think. It may be a bit long and stringy however. Maybe add one or two more bulbous (or billowing if you will) sections to it.

Cool stuff though man, can't wait to see more

Hello Dreln, first off thank you for the constructive criticism. I'll try to make it look better. I'm just wondering if making the contrasts sharper in the lavalamp swamp pic would be a good thing... I want to set the idea in stone that this is underwater, and have a feeling making the contrasts sharper would take away the murkiness and make it look even more like it's above surface?

Just a portrait sketch of a google'd "bride" face.

Also of my dad in the top left. I have a terrible problem with making the face too narrow (along with a lot of other errors), please give me some advice, I really want to improve. Thank you.

Liking the creature studies at the bottom, looking good. As for the environment up above, try giving more depth by layering things back and using lots of atmosphere. Make the foreground elements nice and dark and contrasty (and more saturated) and have things getting lighter, more desaturated, and picking up more of the atmosphere colour as they receed.

Keep up the good work. nice to see the pencil stuff in here among the digital work too

Hehe, thank you. I'm trying to improve in life drawing too to help my cartoons. Thank you for the advice.

I have more work, but nothing I'm allowed to show, so here's a doodle I did to try and break artists block. Any advice on how to "get back into" drawing is much appreciated. Been a bit of a dry spell.

Some anatomy studies I did last night, of the human shoulder/arm and leg. Anatomy study is difficult, a lot of the time I have a hard time visualising what the muscles etc would look like in 3D, and sometimes have a hard time interpreting bridgeman's studies etc, but I learned a bit last night so that's good. Guess it's just a matter of perseverance, so better keep going for it.

Also a doodle while I was on a plane to Auckland. Couple other doodles too. Sorry about the lack of colour this time round lol.

id like to see something referenced from life that you spent about a week on.
a lot of the problems im seeing come from rushing too much
    slow down man

take time to figure out proportions likenesses and perspective.

go out and buy some real paints too.
i dont care if u paint on cardboard just get out and paint.
take time to study color as well. learn how it works
    how ur eyes see it.
u can do better than this. especially if u slow the fuck down!
    sketchbook

Like your panda concept. I can see where your going with it so
    http://www.thedrawingboard.com/howto...l_color_01.htm
its a pretty outdated tutorial but It'll defitnetly get the feeling your after with the panda.

I think you should use less soft+hard circles they leave such a digital mark on it(got that from some massive black dvd-whit brachna one)]. Chalk brushed or texture brushes generally give a much nicer feel and more control in some parts.

Especially like the cartoony style ^^

And dude, when you do anatomy studies, draw less study more, take all the time necessary for it if it takes a day to do a complete body, then it takes a day(and even more if necessary), that's all !

Good job, continue on this way ^^

Hey guys, thanks so much for the constructive feedback. You're correct, I really need to be more patient with this. I'm going to spend this weekend on one pic instead of rushing so much.

Thanks again, your help is very much appreciated!!
