day 6
day 6
wow, i am damn impressed! your images composition, lighting, and textures are only outweighed by your usage of color. very very cool things here.
would you ever want to collaborate on an image?
Wicked paints man, li like the way you use light in your compositions, real nice!
Great Sketchbook, it was a pleasure browsing through it. keep it up bro!
sharp_cuttr: thanks for the comment, yea just drop me a line with what u had in mind! I tried to start a photoshop pong thing a while back but kinda didn't work out but it'd be cool to see an image start from point A and see what it looks like after it changes hands on CA ending at point B.
yor: hohoho super shanks man! I was in ur SB the other day but too timid to post a reply, i fell in luv with those fight club studies, as well as everything else!
day 7 - some roughs, trying to keep the streak alive although these are just some old sketches that i did before touched up on. last 2 are wip ref's of friends
day 8, some refinements on old sketches and enviro rough
Wow! I just looove the environment at the top of the page!! ^_^
Great! Subscribe!
Kristoff: uber thanks kristoff!

y snootchy, long time no see !! Nice updates ! i think your main weakness is the eyes placement . Also some of your character's silhouettes are a bit off (you're using big shapes, you're not going into details . )
Hi there snootchy, im liking how your colour is getting better, one thing to watch out would be total black for shadows, because grayscale values define form it would give more depth to your digitals.
Anyway keep doing enviroments, want to see those more![]()

gogojojo: long time homey! thanks, haha mr. makes me feel old ={
kikindaface: hey walid-OH, my french connection! how's life, the ladies that u try to pimp?! thanks for crits definitely gonna have to do some more high detail work, will work on the eye candy just for u!
Nettle_Mountain: heya nettle, thanks for the crits, you know it's a funny thing i was just thinking the same thing. I realized y my darks were black or lacked slight color shifts, i always use the curves to heighten contrast before posting, will definitely keep that in the back of my mind as I paint!
NicG: Thanks dood! it's a rat race but we'll all have a laugh at the finish line!
ColorExcursion: thanks mate, dig ur sketch style keep it up dood!
Day 10, just two wacktastic sketches, streak might end today, oy getting chewed out at work bout quality, hopefully not a long hiatus, to be continued...

Great workLove the C & C one, it tells a whole epic story about morale, inner battles and the such.
Can't wait for more!
Wow, fantastic work!
Great work man! Those last 2 posts are sweet! they show lotsa progression!
Keep working!
Wow your compositions have gotten incredibly good. I really liked both environments in 817, the b/w is an amazing piece and the armour shows a great understanding of light.
Your characters are awesome, and your enviros are even better, I wonder, do you use a hard brush with full opacity or do you move back and forth?
My SB, come check it out!!

greyskill: hiya long time, and thanks, think the time off from sketching helped to reset the brain!
my57: keke shanks, will do!!
merry-cherry-me: thanks a bunch, haha i'm glad u saw something more than i did, it was more of a screw up put the guy on the horse the wrong way so just figure i'd go with it but i'll just stick wif what u said, sounds a lot better, hehe!
Bombur: thank broham!
Yor: thanks, yea i gotta step away from using that palette brush thingy it looks a bit similar now but good to know it's working in some ways!
lennon: heya lennon long time, thanks. i have no idea how to properly render things, it just worked for that sketch in a way cuz i dropped perspective lines!
ArghosRo: thanks for the feedback! i have opacity set to pressure sensitivty for the initial sketch, since happy accidents could happen anytime then once i have an idea of the values or colors i lay it down and start to push the paint around using the smudge tool, hope that helps!
Day 11 feels like my eye sockets are on fire staring at the monitor for 10hrs a day but i can't stop this addiction XD gonna switch over to analog, maybe even dust off the paint tubes and brushes...
some sloptastic
Woahhh. Snootchy, what are you on and where do I buy it?
nice update ! landscape has some nice colors in it![]()
Jigje: haha thanks, i just missed sketching that much and had a lot of crap in my head that needed to get out!
Yor: hehe thanks, i thought the colors looked really funny on it, think i just posted it to spam haha!
Day 12 got outta work late, and wicked tired but here's one to keep the streak alive!
Day 13 & 14 missed a day but here's some wip process shots on some sketches
The last one with the black and white sketch was one i was trying out after watching Richard Anderson's Astronaut Demo (aka flaptrap), he's got a wicked style to his work. And props to Granny for pointing him out to me! Actually this is kind of the way I work except Richard goes into some good detail of how he uses many layers of previous paintings to get the awesome texture in his work. Here's the link if anyone is interested it's only like $17 i think:
"ASTRONAUT SOLDIER " Character Quick Sketch Tutorial from Richard Anderson.
Edit: not sure why the link isn't working but you can find it on idrawgirls.com
