    Painting and some more sketches.

I toned down the white and upped the contrast so you can see it easier and better! Hopefully they look slightly better now

Well, I've spent all day unwrapping a model and arranging the UVs. I'm about ready to shoot myself, but I really want to draw so that will have to wait.

I did a bunch of figure sketches from posemaniacs because I really need to get the figure pounded into my brain in order to someday draw from well from imagination.

I don't know if I'm the only one, but I am getting really annoyed with how slowly I am progressing. I see all this great art on here, where so many people are at the level I wish I could be at. I'm just not up to that standard yet...I know it takes practice and dedication, it's just I want to be there now, and I can't seem to reach it fast enough. The biggest thing is I want to make things that I'm proud of, instead of the stuff I'm drawing now....ah I'll stop whining and get to it now.

Here's something I did this morning. Gonna go paint now in my frustration.

Sooo I've been reading alot of threads and stuff that people have gone through to get where they are at. It's helped me alot, and has motivated me because all I need to do to get better is really dedicate myself to it. I think my mindset is possibly one of the more important things involved.

I went over stuff from the beginning of the year to now, and I feel I've definitly improved alot. I'm not where I want to be, but I have goals for this coming year. Like not wasting the first half of the year like I did this year. Stupid me :@

Anyway, I finished my sketchbook today so I have a fairly big dump Also I started doing 30 second posed from posemaniacs, and I'm at about 350 so far. I saw algenpfleger doing this and thought it was a great idea. Actually algenpfleger if you look in on my thread sometime, thanks alot for being so dedicated..it's helped me out alot! It's good to be able to see that kind of dedication in other people as well instead of struggling along by myself. I get to see all you've gone through to get to your level!

    Here's the first few.

Ok so these last few paints are quite lame. I get this feeling of embarrasment as I scroll down my thread here :/

But the next few updates should be better. I have half a sketchbook to scan in, its full of studies and stuff, but I feel I've improved alot from them.

In a day or two I wanna make a post with something I drew at the start of this year and then something I've done lately. I want to be able to compare them and see if I have in fact improved. Maybe that will get some people interested in my little struggle to learn here! So I'll get that up soon!

I was walking away from watching the cats fight and saw the huge pile of cardboard lying there and wanted to give that stuff a shot. So I spent an hour on this, still have a bunch to do to it. I really like how its coming out so far though. Just remember nothing is really finished yet.

I got a few minutes today to scan in most of what I've done in the new sketchbook since about christmas time. I finally finished my project for work so I'll have the rest of break to just draw!

So heres a bunch of hand studies once I get back to school and get my anatomy book I want to do some more studies of the anatomy of the hand.

Face studies from loomis and from life. Loomis studies don't look so hot but they are helping me think more when I draw from life.

Woke up early cuz I couldn't sleep and decided to have a go at painting. I think i'm starting to get the hang of it...I'm happier with this than previous attempts.

I think for now its going to be a matter of taking my time with it, and then once I understand what to do the speed portion will come. I just always feel like I should be able to do amazing speed paints right from the start.

Hope everyone has a happy new year!
