hey guys,

this is my first time posting up my pics on this site.
hopefully u enjoy viewing them and comment as much as u want on them..
if u dun like something tell me where i went wrong and how i can go about it..
im open to anything i REALLY want improvement tips (photoshop, drawing etc)

a bit about me ... im 18 yrs old (now lol) and doing tertiary education

also 'buddy' invites are open to all ... then we can chat some more

from what i see in these two i would say to try bring out some more values, especially darks it will bring em out a lot more, they are kinda limited in tone right now
other than that i would say..keep on posting more!

ill keep that in mind for my next creations (values). i can see it also in my work but at that time i was mainly looking for form and shadows to be present

these following pics of faces (mood for faces that week) were drawn straight from my imagination...
last pic was an experimentation - creat form just from shadows, no solid lines used.

thx and thx for the sites also ... they show me everything ive had trouble with when drawing portraits and anow im gonna compare them to mine to see where i could improve ... very useful

this next pic, and photoshop vers. is prob my fav (3rd piece done on photoshop), although i know there is a lot of imperfections and refinement needed for this piece.

this first pic was done ages ago. reason y im putting it in is coz im thinkiing of doing more work with that character. (got bored in english class so i made him)

second pic - ... hmmm .. i look at it now and the body seems to be off.
i dunno if its too much pec or not enough ab, or if the arm is still far out for a tanked guy. help me

AmontilladoAg ... i used the site again and looked at how they draw profile shots properly this time and after memorising the fundamentals this is wat i produced....

now i feel more confident in doing profile drawings thaths b4 thx to u

but as u r the only one that has said something so far after ive posted more (not disregarding others) ... i thought i might put u to my 'buddy' list lol

but i cant help but post this pic of mine up ... i want as many crits on this one possible!!! tell me tell me wat i can use in photoshop to make it better etc. I no the rocks very pastelly but thats another problem .. cant get a good rock effect on photoshop...

from what I can see here,,, you don't have serious problems in drawings or techniques... but I see some problems in face proportions (eyes mainly) in front view,, "perfil?" (the side view) of the head is fine,,, just a bit problems with eyes,,,,
try to draw from reference.. it will help a lot,,, drawing portraits and so on..
amm! and another advice,,, try to link your sketchbook in your signature

but for anyone reading this... i would really like some helpful suggestions on my floating rock piece (how can i achieve a good rock effect on PS? and other things u think could be improved).

as for the rock
i don't know much about ps but i know some techniques
you can use textures and overlay them using photos or just texture frames
a good person to look at would probably be....sparth and mr blonde come to mind, you can just search em here on the forums

dadushin - thx for making me aware of others that could help me with my work.

Osau - well now that i actually looked up how profile shots looked like i got better results from memorising and practising diff face shapes and thx for the complements. and the bold guy (#3) to me looks a bit like Xavier from x-men lol

as for now ill be posting my newer version of the floating rock .. couldnt wait for a response on wat to do with it, so i experimented a lil and this is how it turned out... (i think its better now BUT PLZ tell me wat u think)

1. face - simply wanted to refine it and get rid of the roughness lol

2. was done start of last yr but i though id post my first ever proper attempt at photoshop. and.... her legs didnt fit so dont worry about those, and her arms ..... who needs arms (proportions werent working at the time lol)?!!? lol

That face looks much better now that you've blended it out more. Although I think that the ear might be a bit to small still. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think ear usually starts at eye level. Yours is a bit under it

The other thing I saw on the profile is the temple is quite far back.

I like that chick though, her hat...headdress thing looks tight.That armored dude up in post 8 is a sweet idea. You should work on him some more

retardedmonkey - i agree with the blending AND with wat u said about the other features ... thx for letting me no about the temple (just measured with my hand now and it shouldve been just after the eye instead of 1cm lol)
... and with the armoured dude, im thinking of working on him some more (photoshop or something) and i think a lil bit of fixing up is needed too lol.

if i cabn give u some advice:
try to do a LOT of life drawings, and photograph drawings, they will help u a lot in understanding human body and all the other stuff

he there.. thanks for postin in my thread.. like your creature ideas.. think you have to make a little more contrast in your drawings.. when you´r working with photosho you just have to make some corections at levels.. or you have to work with some darker (smoother) pens.. ..would write more but my english sucks

ajvenema - art-busy for sure and thx for the motivation. ive done life drawing (nude lol) b4 , but was only 2 sessions so it wasnt enough, now its just for the basics. then stuff like photos observation and them will come in but thx a lot for commenting. each one is more motivation.

FAST ART - for one, dont be self conscious about ur english, i like to read ppl comments, and even if its not fully grammatically correct, ill make sense of it anyway. and as for contrast, ive noticed it also when i compare my work with others'. but its good to no wat others think rather than self judging them. we'll also have to talk more about photoshop stuff but in more detail this time lol

Thanks for stopping my my sketchbook. 17, huh? Well, you're doing a lot better than I was at your age. Just keep hitting the basics for now. Have fun with it, draw monsters and aliens and whatnot, but keep hitting the figure drawing books and drawing from life (including still life) as much as you can. Fill sketchbooks! You'll see the massive improvement that you are looking for in a hurry.
