    Monster Hunter by Terek

Well, this an artwork inspired on the fantastic worl of Monster hunter
    (copyrighted by capcom)
Done in pencil and painted with photoshop cs2.
Im kind of satisfyed with that piece, maybe i can see an excess of turquoise on the general colouring, but, well i like a lot that color. especially glad with the tongue and blood results. What do u think?
Character and monster are imaginated, not from the game, so dont search what wyvern it is ^^

Please comment to see the things u like or the ones u would change, im open to all kind of critics

Something is not right with anatomy, besides you everything on the artwork painted in the same way for example the monster is exacly painted like pants of the character. Try is paint diferent

    hey,
very nice pic... i really like the textures and details in all areas of the characters. (i agree with wat u say abou tthe tongue... looks awesome, also the wounds on the beast i like alot ... giving me some ideas lol )
all i have to say thats negative ... is the amount of ripples in the clothing ... couldve used a little less but thats my opinion but overall it is 'very' good

Maybe to offset all the turquoise you can work some warm colors into the shadows. Desaturated reds and purples, maybe. The pure black you're using in the shadows are hurting this piece.

Interesting piece you have here, but I think the anatomy is off. His arms and legs seem to huge for his torso and the shoulder of the hand that's holding a sword seems a bit dislocated. Try to think of the fact that human male body (according to Loomis ) should be eight heads tall...

Other than that, great coloring, you must have put a great deal of effort into this one...

    Cheers!

yeah man, great job. despite all its flaws i think you have potential. some mistakes here and there. i thought it would be cool to show the monster's teeth piercing its own tongue since its dead. good work!
Just draw your ass off. Whatever you do, don't -- stop -- drawing...

you mentioned the shadows before, and thats one thing that bothers me too. it's too close to black. change the hue of the shadows. you are using mostly cool colors in this piece, i would go for warmer color shadows.

I would know if the bone texture of the bone armor is correct, i dont know if it seems really that the armor its made off bones.
And please, some perspective corrections? It dont have all the "eyefish" view that i wanted.

Thanks for ur words and tips mates, yah i see something wrong with the guy´s right arm... the perspective that i attempted to apply failed a lil, but overall this im kind of glad with the results.
Yeah the idea of monster piercing his tongue sounds good !
