You are doing great, nice updates. What does a process test mean?
Well, I'm trying to establish a solid workflow to create images. Someting like
1) basic sketch
2) refined line drawing
3) Basic values
4) Basic shadows
5) Base color
6) Cleaning up
7) Detailwork, refinement, coloring
That last one is my weak point, and I'm also not sure how much time I should spend on each task. Anyway, I keep on trying.

I decided to go back to the basics so here ya go, some posemaniacs studies:
From now on I'll try to do some studies and referenced stuff every day - and also update more frequently

Great studies and i like the workflow.Keep the same and make a work relaxed and in more than one day.You will learn your own system even better and you will make a more thoughtfull work

kingkostas: Thanks for your comment. I'm not really sure what you mean by keeping the same though. My workflow is pretty far from being established yet.
kfeeras:Thanks. Cowgils are really fun to draw
some more referenced crap here, trying different brush settings on the little girl portrait and other stuff - obvious failures. still not sure how to achieve fast and better results

Nice sketchbook. This one http://www.conceptart.org/forums/att...6&d=1257142547 definitely seems like a jump forward with your use of color. A lot of your colors on your other digital work was over saturated. That one is nice.
I have a lot of family in Budapest. It's a beautiful city. I'd love to live there.Sadly I don't speak Hungarian aside from a few phrases. I can still get around the Budapest subway though. haha
"This planet has - or rather had - a problem, which was this: most of the people on it were unhappy for pretty much of the time. Many solutions were suggested for this problem, but most of these were largely concerned with the movements of small green pieces of paper, which is odd because on the whole it wasn't the small green pieces of paper that were unhappy." -Douglas Adams

My goal: To get good enough to post in the Finally Finished Forum.

MyOrangeHat: Thanks you. I'm always glad to see hungarian people here. or at least folks who have Hungarian relatives
Some more experiments today (all reffed). I decided to make snapshots of my sketches in every five minutes. So here ya go:
At first I really didn't know what to do, but eventually I turned the brush settings and I'm kinda happy with those last ones.

Wow, what a crowd here! Thanks for the support guys.
After two days of character related stuff I decided to do some referenced enviros. Left and right are 5 min and 10 min stages.
Anyway, they suck.

some more referenced stuff. This time: portraits.
10 minutes each with a 5 minute wip - just as usual
not too many 'cause I had to watch Martha Dahlig's brand new tutorial and the captured video. Mindblowing stuff.
Still not having too much time, still doing the same reffed stuff...
Some other failures here:

Hey man! Thanks for the helpful crit in my SB!
Like the dedication going on your SB. Very nice studies, surely you are getting the hang of it. I would suggest to spice up things by doing a longer study, tons can be learn at that too. Just a thought, keep it up!

Maestro Andres: Thanks for the suggestion. I guess I'll give it a try at the weekend. Though I've also did a longer unreffed one today - beside all those 10 minute ones. Guess which

COOl studies :]
nice studies![]()
But maybe do a 50min painting once in a while besides 5 x 10 min drawings?
Besides that, just awesome. I think I'll do some stuff like this too in the future. Thanks for the inspiration!
Thanks for stopping by my sketchbook a while back. I like your gesture studies here and the stuff you do from photo reference! I'd like to see you do a few more finished pieces (although if you don't have too much time, the fast sketches are a good way to practice).
Your anime girls seem oddly thick-necked or even neckless, although your reffed girls look great. Maybe try using more reference for the cartoon girls? I used to have the exact opposite problem as you (made all my necks way too long) and I think that's what helped me rein it in.
Anyway, keep up the good work!![]()

Hey Novbert, thanks for visiting my sketchbook and leaving a comment!
Your studies are coming along great, you're improving with each post and I like the structure to your work you seem to be aiming for.
Out of the recent posts the sketches in #196 looked great in terms of lines and motion. Good stuff, cheers!
