Wow, I enjoyed it so much that I pretty much got carried away and spent hours on it. I definitely got inspired to do kid illustration commissions now. LOL! It's so fun and joyful to do it!!! Oh yeah, I did what I was suggested to, defining the shape more....

    I hope I have succeeded!

I finished that yesterday, but I was too tired to do anything afterward so I went straight to bed. Zzzz, now that I feel much better, I'm posting my result! Unfortunately, with a fresh set of eyes, I saw few anatomy errors. Darn it!

    Scary to the ULTIMATE!

Wow, I think I have reached other 'breakthrough' of mine... out of blue I decided to do it at an entirely different approach and to my surprise, it's awfully a lot easier and I could do it far more clean. Learning to see forms definitely helped!

    Enjoy! {made for DSG 1438}

Mmm, randomness... I guess I'd call it intuitional doodling.

Experimenting with style and forms of course... made in photoshop.. 1.5 hours is the estimated time... could be 2 hours.. didn't pay attention to the time... sorry guys/gals.

I wanted to made a more complex scene with buildings etc to see how far I have improved and to see if I could do it. I'm surprised how well it turned out in sprite there are still few perspective errors.

wow! you have some beautifull colors going on. great work!
I see that your looking for help with your work and thats great too because thats the first step. Its understanding that you are always learning when it comes to being an artist. Just study your face off by looking at other painters and pick up alot of how to books and you'll bound to become better at what you seek.

Long time no see or update lol

Hi, long time I know but now I have been getting so serious in art that I thought I should kep you all updated so maybe that you can give me some critiques as I go on deeper in it. For now anatomy study is my main thing....

Here's more.. first one is a study from references of random people's faces then eventually the wings study for my coming up commission, all have been found on either deviantart or google in the image section. It's nice to get more comfortable in drawing. I have them numbered in order so you can see the improvement from 1 to 6. There were breaks inbetween them with gesture drawing and speed paintings so that I can see if gesture drawing really helped.

And the rest, well, I have before (I think you can tell which one lol!) and after pictures to compare my skill when I first started and after approx. 1.5 weeks of practicing, the final result. At first, I was so frustrated and felt embarrassed that it turned out not so well, but after a week, I already could see a huge improvement! This fine pen is fun to draw with, it's easier to draw correctly the first time. They all are done within 30 seconds. Big thanks to posemaniacs.com! What do you think?

I see you know your colour theory! And perspective too.
A really nice sketch book, great start!!

I liked you environment ideas and till i got to your newest posts i wanted to suggest more traditional medium studies, more anatomy, figures. But i see you have done a bunch of those, so all that is left now for you is to keep going!!

Thank you for your kind words and for visiting my sketchbook.

    Have a Merry Christmas!!!!

BlackDelphin: Thank you! Yeah, I figured I should do traditional since I have seen many inspiring sketchbooks here where they improved so much in few months just by doing that... lol it is soooo inspiring to be here on conceptart! Thank you again for your comment! Hope you had a great Christmas!

    Update:
Hi, I'm back from being away on Holiday, I hope you all had a nice Merry Christmas! I started doing more life study drawing while I was at other people's house, the first one have some imagination doodle and 2nd one is 98% life study drawing, I think you can tell which isn't from life in that one And all the circles are because after doing the cup in first page, I realized I do the circles very bad so I went ahead and practiced, I think it helped considering that I could see the improvement in 2nd page already.

Pen is fun to work with! No undo, but the feedbacks and lessons I get from it is tremendous! 30 sec gesture drawing I did for a while definitely helped me to be more confident in my strokes, putting my trust in every stroke I make. It's an awesome feeling!

    What do you think?

Icecold: Thank you for stopping by too! I hope I can reach that professional level soon, lol! Only hard working and determination will do it since there's obviously no shortcuts. Whew! But I know I can do it!

Here's mooooaaare! Objective of the day: Be more confident in strokes while being aware of the forms. Mission: Mostly accomplished. Although, I still have much to go!

Practicing some more. Trying to get more control of my strokes and keep them clean by knowing forms well by seeing both negative and positive spaces, make simple shapes out of them such as circles, half circles, triangles, 'v' letter, 'y' letter, square, etc.

So far so good, but still, I know I can do more!

Here's a digital painting from me. Had some time to spare so I made this one based on CGtalk's topic, "deadly sin"
Made within 30 min in Photoshop on one layer (traditional painting approach) with no special effects other than sharpening.

Here's more of my study... whew. I can already notice improvements in strokes so overall I'm happy, but that means soon I'll have to move on to deeper anatomy study such as loomis routine... unless you have a better suggestion for me to start first with.

I just got a nice adjustable desk lamp so it'll be helpful for life study and also to study at nighttime (no good lighting here lol). Took pics with my lamp on just because I dislike flash.

No scanner either so... bear with me lol!

This time, I decided to only post the hand study I did, all those posemanics practice probably bore you out of your skull that you go mad... I don't want that to happen! So I'll skip it for today. Don't worry, I'll post it once again if I see any improvements.

And with hand study, I'm quite glad how it is turning out. I'm getting more confident with the forms and curve drawing. Cleaner strokes yes, but still not quite there yet! lol! 30 secs gesture drawing helped a lot to get me to draw faster and more accurate, now I can draw more and learn more in less amount of time! Incredibly rewarding and I have only been at it for two weeks!

Argh, I'm supposed to focus on a commission, deadline's tomorrow and as soon as I saw this topic, I just HAD to do it! It was definitely worth the fun!

About 45 min or so in Photoshop. One layer only. Coloring like traditional. No contrast adjustment, only sharpening and a bit of len distortion to give it a extra dimension

Good news, I got my intuos 4 tablet today! Had to do a test sketch to make right configuration and to get used to this new surface.. intuos 2's surface is super smooth compared to this one.. lol! But fun!

I absolutely love it and think it's a good invest

Practicing to get used to this new intuos 4 large tablet lol... here's two pieces from Photoshop and 1 from Painter. Geez, painter is hard to control for me I think, but okay, more practice the better I'll become I guess... I realized how bad my intuos 2 is, I now understood why it could not make a straight line or circle.. I had a bad ratio aspect distortion to begin with and plus I read reports of it going nuts making wavy lines... No wonder I have struggled with it.

Now with intuos 4 I'm able to do details and all with ease (I don't even need that precision mode so far). Weird difference...

[comment originally for WDELL thread, I paste it here too)
Hi, it has been a while since I have been in here [referring to WDELL thread], but I decided to do portrait studies of you because more pictures were just a scroll away... what's more lazy way than this? Hehe This thread is a cool and handy place to study!

Drew in ink because I can't abuse the undo feature like I do in Photoshop and force myself to learn how to do it the neater way. My apologsis in advance if some of you didn't turn out right, but I tried, it's literally my first attempt doing this. I decorated your nicknames as well to match how I feel with you in the picture. Haha, hope you like my effort. I probably will do more like this in the future it has been fun!

DSG 1533: Creature • BUS-SIZED REPTILIAN BEAST IS DOWNTOWN COMMUTER TRANSPORT

I looked at the title and orignally wasn't going to get involved, but then I realized I will never learn how to do varied artworks including creatures if I don't even try so I was determined to tackle that down by doing a concept page on my sketchbook based on a reptile pic I have found and it eventually came to this point... it's surpisingly easier when I already did concept beforehand.

Here's the result.. what do u think?
