"Hello, I want to thank Naomi-Parkes for posting her awesome tree bark picture because with my study lately, I was like, I gotta try something with texture to push myself further in my practice.. and viola! you posted it.. perfect picture!!

I have been working very hard on it for last few days and learned a lot by doing it. Thank you again! It's a honor and here's the original size, feel free to use it.

Also here's WIP so you can see how I do it. Any critiques are welcome, I'm trying to achieve photorealism feeling here with a bit of colorful touch... I think I still have a long way to go, but this is my best piece of all so it's good for me to see! Let's celebrate! Woohoo!

    Cheers!"

DSG 1534: Sci-Fantasy Blend • MOBILE OLD OAK TREE "MECH" W/ CROOK OR KNOTHOLE PILOT

After my long study, I just had to do a speedpainting to see if my study is helping and apparently it does.

    Good night.. zzz

DSG 1535: Sci-Fi • FORLORN PILOT STANDS ATOP THEIR RUINED, FALLEN, MECHA

Here's mine, I bet it was only 30 min sketch or so... have so much commissions to do, but I had to give this a try out since I always suck with mech stuff.

My main focus was the composition which I feel satisfied with. Made with Photoshop.

You certainly have improved while i was away!
Your traditional work seems even more steady, and at the same time creative, fun curvy lines and dots

Your digital work seems to have found its balance a bit more too.
    Keep at it!!

This dude here has a really nice, defined light source!!!!
    MOWR!!!

And perhaps try flipping him. He looks like he could use some resizing, like everything is a bit thinned out.. nothing else to critique about that heh got picky

    Wow,

you are bold with your colors on here, I like it. That study on page one with the 3 different color environments reads really well even at the loose stage they are in. Keep posting!

SWEET! your bridgmans are here, and you started posting now! more, more

about wat you may have done wrong..i think it's because you went really small with the brush when blending; try to work in big blocks, but you got to draw a lot to see those blocks (working on it too )
so lets do our best together, shall we!?!?!!!
