You're showing some real progress in this sketchbook. Nice stuff! The dramatic angles that you're tackling are terrific. Nothing is just "flat".
You had said earlier that you were working on detailing, and it shows.
Nice stuff! In those first few enviros you just nailed the colour and light! Perfect! Now fill in those details...
A quick suggestion came to mind for the image of soldiers running up the stairs: the blur on the leg is a bit cheesy, no? Why not convey the motion through painting itself? Or just don't show the motion at all.
Wow, your stuff is great! Your environments are sweet! I'm certainly going to study your work and try to understand your process. Great stuff.
I think what's most amazing about this sketchbook is your style when sketching keep it up!
Very cool style dude, can you do some more enviro's like you did on page one, they are amazing... and if you want to save the steps too, i'd be blown away.. ;-)
very nice! i have to start working on getting my atmospheres as cool as yours!
cool`style```````````i need a teacher````````````WOW
Kurjuus - thanks man, i know, sketching and the first stages of a drawing is by far my favorite part of it :]
i have to grow a bit more patient though.
RandAlThor - thanks :] i`m focused on characters and dealing with anatomy right now so enviroments are going to be off for a while :]
larszlo - thanks dude :] atmospheres is very important
jamLEE - i need a teacher as well :]
so i`ve been slacking off this week here`s a quick experiment i did, the captured in mid flight dude is taken from this great photogarphy
focused news site http://www.boston.com/bigpicture/
not too sure about the colours though, i know they`re not accurate to the picture but still flesh tones are hard
dude, especially like your environments!
I see the guy in your first post on this page took the idea of a "banana mag" a little too far But your sketches rock!
thanks mentler :] this means alot coming from you.
Lateman, thanks for stopping by dude :]
Razortalon - first time poster! i`m flattered you`d choose my sketchbook :] come on man let`s see some of your work
here`s some stuff i started between work and life :] i`m thinking of adding some type of robot behind this dude
and here`s a that ball thrower dude (can`t remember how they were called) from ref
Cool stuff, like the lighting, colour and brushmarks of the last one.
your use of colour is breath taking. Please finish some of the thumbnails you have on the first page! your enviroments are just inspiring and your improvement with charecters is great!
I'm a big fan of soldiers and the weapons so I highly admire your last digital paintings! The strongest side of yours is just obvious, the industrial designs and environments... experiment some more! KEEP IT UP!
the only thing that doesn't make it look like a vietnam related photo is more because of the helmet.
your background,it looks pretty cold which is the reason it probably looks like a WWII scenario.
try to use a warmer color, like a sunset on the background.
or different tints of green, make it look like there's a jungle background or anything like it.
the rest of your works seems really good.
wish i had those painting skills.
