Wow, you're doing great. I thought some of your skull and bone studies might also look good in watercolor. My instructor told me to use Winsor & Newton ivory black and then use a brush to lighten up by lifting up some color.

Yes! We love birds! UNKNOWNsketcher is right about the crosshatching as a background. It seems flat and un-atmospheric (if that's a word). Try working around the object! Good work!
