    Talking Claudio's sketchbook

    Hi CA!
I've been here for a while, lurking for months,, but I have never posted anything so I wanted to start with a sketchbook...

a brief biography: I'm a 17 years old boy who never studied art or are going to study... I started drawing since I was very young but I begun to draw seriously and more often a couple of months ago when I found out CA. Creating this I just want to improve my drawing skills so your crits are very welcome

andddd I don't speak english very well so my apologies if I made some mistake...:

    Critics are very welcome...

Your studies and drawings from reference are very well done, accurate and detailed. Just keep doing them... Your originals are very far behind though. I guess you need more confidence, and to draw more from life from all possible angles, and learn to really _observe_ what you're drawing. Understand how it works in 3D space and not just the shapes and lines of it.

I don't know how many "volume" studies you're doing, but you could try when drawing from life to simplify the objects before you in 3D space. That is, to draw out all the edges of the object, even on the sides not visible to you.

Here's a great tool to practice posing: http://www.posemaniacs.com/pose/thirtysecond.html

    Keep it up! Suerte, compadre!

Another thing, when scanning your pictures from a sketchbook, put an empty, white sheet behind the page you're scanning. That way the drawings from the page behind that won't bleed through in the scan...

Your drawing of your friend from life and the referenced anatomy pic are the strongest 2 pics, so reference is definitely your friend.

Wiht the other 'made up' images you should perhaps check out some of the theories by Loomis or Bridgeman. Your heads need a solid structure underneath as the profile and 3/4 views seem to distort and lose their volume. I think Andrew Loomis has the most common sense ideas for this.

    Hey Clodioz!!!

Thanks so much for ur kind words!! It's a much better feeling if somebody tell u that ur stuff is makes somebody to draw more than just here he nice stuff keep it up buddy =)!! Even my stuff is not really that good.
But as u say just keep practicing!!
And ur stuff is far better than mine at the begining!! Soo keep it up dude!!
Well the best adived i got was just to keep drawing everyday as much as u can...and get out and draw from life and explore the world. Dont be afraid of what people think about ur drawings if u draw outside just keep doing it and enjoy that u will understand more and more and more...if u keep doin it!
