Lightbulb How To Keep An Art Journal / Leyendecker Presentation

i stumbeld over some links and i hope they are not old and allready
    posted:

A lady talking about her art journal habits.
Shes very peculiar and her stuff may be a bit to artsy for some here.. but i think
that the spirit she is talking about could do everyone well.

    THE OTHER THING
a lecture about the great Leyendecker.

reminds me of my wife's grandmother, a crazy, artsy Italian from Jersey. Good work ethic though

full of shit....fuck no....Comeon man...I like it , just dont get caught up in ,shit like its not anatomically right , the lightings wrong whatever , try sometimes just enjoying the art . I bet shes more of an artist than most of us guys.why? look at us.. all of usokay its a good thing that we are studying art and stuff but how many of us put our spirit in our works.i dont see much wonderful work here, technically sound ..yes, aesthetically good ...yes but no spirit. She has that spirit and you gotta respect that.

I think she is the most sane person I have ever seen, and super funny too.
Just watched more of her videos and man I'm hooked and inspired. Thanks for posting them _Andreas_.

    What a flake!

    I like her!

We could use more of that free association with mark-making stuff. Mostly we get so uptight about having each line perfect. It good to see that we don't always need to.

I dont know wether she is the craziest or the most sane person I've seen in a while.

But she has a good point about enjoying it and being yourself.

Makes a lot of sense to me. Might not land you a job as a super cool creature designer at some top notch studio, but you will probably have some fun.

Ha, she's crazy like my design teacher, I love it. Now I need to work on keeping an art journal/sketchbook, this will be good inspiration.

I just wish she'd fix her teeth. Hey, I went through 3 years of enamel brace torture. I think everybody is obligated to go through the same torture I went through....even if your teeth are straight.

You guys seem to be ignoring the Leyendecker part of this thread. I went to the Fullerton Museum which is displaying 60 or more Leyendecker paintings. It's a good show. Ends at closing on November 18th. So, you SoCal people better hurry.

Thanks for bringing him up NoSeRider. I just came on here so I could finally listen about Leyendecker while I painted, I wanted to wait to listen and savor like a really good piece of Chocolate. ;P
I saw the show at The Higgins in Stockton and wowzas! that man is such a beautiful and confident painter, it was awesome to see in person. One of the many highlights of my small existence, haha.
Here are some pics I took of his paintings for you all to enjoy
Excuse some of the blurry and glare images, It is a miracle I even shot them that sharp.
