    Ollie Sykes

Probably there is no other band who inspire me so many years. Yes, I talking about Bring Me The Horizon. Everything started after I first time watched their video Traitors never play hangman. it was exactly what I needed to get up in the morning. I like everything about them: music, lyrics, style. First I wanted to draw all of them, but I spend too much time on Ollie. Anyway, it's my present to them for everything they do

Some comic samples from my Masterproof Project

    Well, it's ended.
Don't have much to say, but this year was interesting. I experimented a little bit in comics, I visited different towns in Belgium and spoke a lot about comics with leading Belgium comic artists and teachers. This was great year of experience. I have a couple of things in my head what to do after, but for now I won't tell you them. I will show you some pages instead. =)

    Some tattoos designs

    Thank you, Poetry man!
    ----------------------------------------------------------------

Just made this one for fun to try myself in tattoo design. Two tattoos below were done with Illustrator, I kinda enjoy to work with pen tool, so sometimes I use it to keep myself in good shape. All the rest done with photoshop.

    Looks like watermelon

    Picture about summer time!

I recently took on a collaboration with writer Matt Stevens for a graphic novel titled ANTI-HERO. It’s a mature readers title about a virginal college student obsessed with drawing sexy women and who one day realizes he can bring them to life. The consequences are hilarious at first. Eventually things turn tragic and then horrific.

I made this drawing while I was listening to Die Antwoord "Ten$ion" album. I put it on loop, and listened it like 9-10 times, so I kinda hate it right now. But it was good inspiration...hhh..so what I've been saying....oh yeah, Go to South Africa

I visited workshop "Transformation" by Julien Maire on Transmedia faculty. I've been inspired by workshop videos with different objects and how they transforming in real time. The first idea that come to my mind, was to use Cube Rubik's and try to combine it with illustration. The main goal of our task was somehow "personalize" this work. So I thought to make a test and look how I can mix my face with Cube Rubik's transformations. First I made a couple of photos (there were more, but I just took examples I liked)

Cube Rubik (I adjusted some colors for better look)

    Yeah, that's me

I put one photo on another by using Multiply effect in Photoshop

    And transform it

Looks kinda creepy, but I needed to do this stuff to understand Cube Rubik's structure
With black and white picture it works very well.

I worked a little bit on these pictures in photoshop, because sometimes it won't help if you just moving layers according to Cube Rubiks changes.

There is some other examples of how color works if I put it on my face.

    And I started sketching

And here I stopped. My first idea was to make my head according to transformations of Cube Rubik's, but to keep it in "head form". I mean, only pieces of face were moving like Cube Rubik's pieces. But it didn't really work out, I just didn't like it. So I went to other way, and just replace all my body with different Cube Rubik's and called it "Cube winter". As you can see, there are some little cubes falling instead of snowflakes and my face kinda freezing and stuff. Also, if I try to imagine how this character gonna move with all transformations of parts of his (my) body, it can be very funny. Unfortunately I don't have time to make those drawings, cause I still need to color this one. Probably I will use Photoshop, but still not sure what coloring technique I gonna use. The thing is, that Cube Rubik's has very colorful pieces, so I afraid it can turn into color mess. But anyway, I still need to think about it.

And after two days it turns into this

Just a surreal little story about how water important for us. I used photoshop to color background and Illustrator for character and spaceship. And decided to mix it up with graffity theme that I didn't use for a long time. Enjoy!

I planning to do one experimental animation out of it next week. So, stay tuned

Cool stuff Landish, I love the cartoon style you've got going.
Lol, also I must say it's a very recognizable to see fluffy happy joy joy stuff, and then some horror sick gore freak stuff as well.
Yin yang I suppose? Seeing your stuff brings back memories... I should get to making cartoon stuff again someday.
Thanks for sharing, keep up the good work!

    Vitamin C

I called this little comic "Vitamin C". Sometimes it's hard to see the difference between orange and grapefruit till you slice it up

A small exercise I made for workshop "Internet of Things" in Sint-Lukas Brussel. Just to experiment a little with live footage and AfterEffects animation
