Nice pencil render style. I think the face and hands can use some attention. The ear seems a little too high and the hands are small, but that may have been your intention. Nice work though, keep it up.

Out of all the stuff I saw in here, I really liked this: http://www.conceptart.org/forums/att...5&d=1194230445 maybe because it's more styilized than realistic? my eye tends to draw more to those. anywho. i like it. & i think you should color it. with watercolors or somethign i think would look rad!

28chelseaslater- hey thanks, i might have to try that!

been practicing more and more heads it was a fucking pain before but now i can't stop
ive been having trouble putting more details in the faces and costumes especially in that 3rd one(ew), so think i'm going to move to larger sheets of paper, faces are so much easier to draw larger i'm heading out to buy a bristol pad!

Hey, it's amazing how much you've progressed in three short pages. And all within a month. Inspiring work man, love your crisp drawing but especially your precise tonal rendering. Really brings your characters to life! Curious to see where you'll be in another month or so.

Rabid Peanut- hey thanks man! i'll take that as a complement! i hope it does not come of as copies though, as i talked with Zord, i feel like i'm still doin my own thing when i draw and don't think about others, this is kinda where my style has developed, although when i look at it after i feel like it does a little bit :|

Eon- hey eon thanks for the comment! i'm going to get to do a lot more drawing this coming month so i'm excited! less classes and stuff, sweet shit!

    berf- wow thanks berf!

this is the new painting i've been doing, its near finished but there are a few things i need to touch up on(crits always welcome, definitely need some help on these!)

    Dude, your stuff is delicious~
I love your pencil drawings.. actually, I like the ones on the first page best, I think, because of the bold lines you used. Also, you draw awesome girl-legs.

i really love this grotesque "selfportraits"?!
    especially the idea of it.

if you´d combine that great fluid linework of yours with some anatomy or better proportions, you´d be unstopable foh sho´!

    still great to look at.

Your paintings are very vividly lit, I think the photo quality is bad... but why the grotesque tumor growth all over the place? Maybe there's a reason, i didn't read your text much just looked at the work. Your pieces with the tumors which are oil paintings are the best but looking at your pencils I'm surprised you're the same artist. Really such a jump, maybe you're improving a lot and the rest are just sketches as they all look unfinished. Either way I would like to see a well lit fully rendered piece which shows correct symmetry not disrupted by a bulbous tumor.

Thanks for dropping by my SB, I appreciate the comments.

Really love your sketches - everything about them in fact. Your paintings send shivers up my spine but they're really well done and if they do that then I guess you're getting your desired reaction

the painting is effing nice man....Some crits though(Please remember that I am noob myself)
    Okay here goes..
Like the overall feel of things but some values seem somewhat wrongs, some highlights , are out of place like at the the edge of the forhead, the contrast seems too harsh, the highlights on the punched eye....are not implying a snese of form..And you gotta push the contrast I want to see some darks....
Some solidity to the rendering of the fac will give the painting a strong focal point, right now the way the face and the shirt are painted is somewhat the same....

still gotta say that you are so much better than I in oil paints...and the sketches too are rad...
    Keep going.

n1va- yea niva it was part of an assignment, i o wish that i didn't have to but it was still interesting and i did learn from it, it also made me want to do more portraits as well, as for the well lit fully rendered piece...i don't really post that stuff here, maybe i should

thek- hey thanks for the comments man!

bhanu- thanks for the crits man! good eye too...thanks for pointing out the forehead i realize what you are saying, i did pay the least attention to that part
i still need to go into the darks as well...hey man you had very valid points doesn't matter if you are a "noob" thanks bro

i thought id come by and see wat ur work is like, now that ive got the chance to, especially since uve visited my work on several occasions
when i look at ur work, and then at mine i see ur well ahead of me antomy-wise and head structure (im getting the hang of it now though). also u seem to be very much influenced by asian lifestyle (clothes etc.) and uve used these to ur advantaged and depicted ur images well.
id like to see more stuff.

Paintings are looking tight and nice. I think the shadow behind the figure in the last is a bit light in value, as the face looks like it's getting hit by a fairly strong light source. The tumorous growths are alright, but not reading as strong spacially as the rest of the faces. The pencils look nice with cool anatomy. Bhanu hit some good points.

First, thanks for stopping by the sb, thought I'd return the favor. Second, you've got crazy good pencil work, I love seeing it. The three page landscape in the back looks like it should become a digit paint, its got great depth. Also the later pencil work with higher contrast really catches my eye. I'm in I.D. and we're all about strict line quality, so seeing looser sketches always is interesting to me. I like that I can see how you moved about the page, etc. much like in the wet charcoal stuff you did. Finally, those paintings are tight, are you doing the series for a class or just personal work? Either way, I like that the disfigurations seem like legitimate tumors and don't lose the great style you have in the rest of the painting. Love the lighting too. Solid.

I don't know if this was said before, but I see alot of Marko Djurdjevic in your drawings. He's an inspiration to me too. But try not to copy the style, but adapt it to what fits you best! Tight shit, by the way! Cool stuff here!
