Hello and good day to you. First off, I'd like to say I like the drawing of the AT-ST the most; the clean lines are really working there. In addition, I like that you are doing body studies and things of the sort; it will help you a lot.

The biggest problem I see so far, is that you have very little line quality in most of your sketches. To me, it looks like you are working fairly small, with a dull pencil, which is ok. However, you need to add pressure and varying thicknesses to your lines. Try adding black to your pictures; it will add a completely new level to your work.

Overall, it’s a good start, and I can't wait to see more.

Augmenton: Wow your good, I do draw with a dull pencil... your good... anyway thanks and i will keep that in mind. But i have to say that my scanner makes everything look lighter than what it is.

    Anyway Update!

The first one is a Da Vinci ref and i am quite pleased with it even though the proportions are a little wrong

The second one is also a Da Vinci ref

The last one am not very pleased with and its a Michelangelo ref

If you are interested in becoming an animator you should look into doing some life drawing

You have a good imagination but the basics are lacking. I recommend doing a page or 2 of cubes, spheres and cones, shaded and such. The key element is to be able to learn to see depth in your paper and to draw things in 3-D.

If you want a decent site for poses try www.posemaniacs.com/blog

Don't give up. You picked a good age to start

i'd recommend getting an anatomy book. get one for people and one for animals.
i like the direction your art is heading, but you should do some "research" before you draw. knowing how somehting works on the inside can drastically improve the way you draw it.

Hi lacadam! First off, kudos to you for drawing from observation. Life drawing is definitely the most important thing for animators, especially traditional animators. It's also great you're practicing on hands, as they are arguably the most difficult part of the body to draw.

So far you're on the right track, however now I would try practicing more on the values of the subjects. Value will create a better illusion of depth and space, making it appear three-dimensional almost. Also as someone earlier mentioned, I would try using a sharpened pencil, that way the linework and values will appear nice and crisp.

Great work, hope to see more!

Thanks for the reply in my sketchbook. Very good you're making these studies and observe from life. Try to work on your pencil strokes as well by doing long stroke and eclipse excersizes, blind contour drawing from life is also great for this, even if your blind contour drawings does'nt look great.

Hello and this is another update, all of them are from photos

by the way i forgot to say thank you to Whitevillage and Icharin : )
and i noticed that everyone says i should be putting more black, meaning to press more with the pencil or sharpen it. I just wanted to say that i do press and sharpen my pencil, its the scanner that for some reason makes everything lighter and bluer.

Hello, am back and well this week has been horrible due to all the homework, had very little time to do anything let alone drawing anyway i do have something to post, they are all done before i went to bed just before sleep. By the way i finally got a program for animation and computer graphics its called blender and its free, so if interested just google it and download it, its free.

    Anyone to drawing:

the first one for some reason i really like... i find it great... i dont know why.

The rest are pen drawings of animals, happy with them since i did not use as pencil at all.

your lines are a little wobbly. try drawing with a permanent marker and making very few strokes. make sure you've got the line RIGHT the first time.

    Hello my fellow teen artist
Nice to see you drawing lots. Keep at it.
I would say to keep working on your line. Sketch lighter, and when you are finished, line it in with long confident strokes.
You could also improve your cross hatching ( as could I ), just spend longer on it, and try to make it less scribbley.
And ofcourse, you could improve your anatomy. Try drawing faces, and practing drawing figures more. It will pay off in the end.

In photoshop, use "auto levels" under the image adjustments menu to fix value problems.

If you don't have photoshop, pirate it or you're shit outta luck.
