    Hamlet's Egg: Animation Short

    Hi everyone,

I'm new to this forum so i hope my work as an amateur fits
the interests here on the forum :-)
I just finished a first lip sync animation. Its about an egg who wonders what it is all about. which he founds out soon enough: Shakespeare style:-)

Any pointers and/or advice will be appreciated.

Sadly, Youtube isn't the perfect platform for this kind of thing - I noticed that sometimes it does't play image and sound sync.

So I'd say yeah, this is good, I think... But honestly I can't tell for sure.

    Greetings!

This is cute The lighting is excellent, so is the setting: looks very cozy and the newspaper in the background is a nice touch.

Unfortunately, I can't really judge the lip-synch itself since Youtube sometimes unsynchs the sound and video for some reason. Thus any critique based on that may not be correct. So I can only really critique the camera moves here.

When you're tracking in at the very beginning, why did you decide to make separate shots instead of just a simple track in? That camera move looks choppy because of that. The shot would have been more complicated if the egg was moving during track in, but it isn't. So you could have just made a continual camera move there. There's also a distortion I see happening every time the egg blinks. I'm not sure if it's intentional or a mistake, but it's definitely noticeable and a bit ditracting, especially when it happens during the lip-synch.

    Hope this helps!
The Boulder takes issue with that comment.

    Thx guys,

    1. If you don't review each others work thrue Youtube
how do you do it then? I have a AVI file witch is 500Mb and an Mpeg of 6Mb. Do you upload here or what?

    2. The blinking focus change was intentional but i agree that it doesn't work well, so I'll change that next time.

    3. The zooming I agree, it was because of the fact i use a digital camera that has trouble zooming smoothly during filming. It went choppy indeed. have to figure out to do that better next time.

Thanx again, and hope to see some work of yourself here!
